Back (but shhhh)

Shhh, because I should be working, going through another stack of books and copying another five hundred scholarly articles on virtual communities, groups of support, social identity on-line discourse and who know what else. It's only that ( Read more... )

Hi! Maybe you don't remember me, I friended you some months ago and I was wondering where were you. Well, now I know :D I'm sorry about your boredom. I can understand you not being able to make the firts move because that's exactly the way I am! And I should be studying too, instead of preparing to attend tremendous coming-of-age parties full of stupid teenagers just because it's my cousin's O_O;
So, er, no wonderful social-life tips from here :D But I have a rec for you:
"Fall into Charybdis" http://www.the-archive.net/viewstory.php?sid=3963 by Nimori. It's not a novel but I liked it all the same. Nimori's style is always so enticing!
And..just in case you didn't know, the Snarry Art Olympics are starting tomorrow :D http://community.livejournal.com/snarry_olympics/

Kisses *shares beer*

Waa-ah, thanks! I just found out there are some new fics by Jay Tryfanstone, and Aucta, and Dementor Delta, and Cluegirl, so I guess there's no way to be bored again!

Sniff, 4 or so months of being behind with art - there is no way to go through all this stuff. Thanks for the links, I will certainly visit!

And thanks for the warm welcome, I'm starting to feel at home here again.

;-) I should finish categorizing them in my Endnote database during the week, I can upload it somewhere if you wish to take a look. As I said, mostly everything internet and CMC, gender, fan and quite a lot of social, psychological and linguistic theories of identity and communication. I can share, but I guess you have excellent access to all of them anyhow - the journals are in electronic databases and I can only imagine all those books on shelves of American/British libraries (wherever you reside at the moment?).

Libraries in Leuven are excellent compared to the ones in Warsaw: plenty of English books and I saved plenty of money copying them instead of buying them from Amazon (like Nancy Baym or Theorizing fandom, which you can hardly buy anywhere now).

Thank you! I'd be very grateful if you could upload!!!

as for my access...LOL. we have *nothing* in my library (though, admittedly, access to Interlibrary Loan) I actuallyjust realized this week, that the two essays I had from Theorizing Fandom weren't enough and I'm about to order it via ILL...

All right, thanks for motivating me, I will certainly go on with categorizing them NOW:-)

Actually, if you want the rest of Theorizing Fandom, I could probably OCR it and send it to you as a doc or pdf when I come back to Poland. It shouldn't take much time.
