I fell in love with her voice -- Gabaldon's, that is. I've read everything she's written because she's one of the few modern writers that writes in a way that resonates with my brain. Her eloquence is what my brain aspires to, therefore, I can't get enough -- despite the tortures to which she subjects her characters. *grin*
I believe G had an audio book of hers that he listened to in the car on a road trip. The sad fact of reality is, I fall asleep to audio books in the car. That's not a judgement, it's merely a fact. I've heard good things about her, so I'll make sure she's on my list.
I absolutely love Diana Gabaldon. I am in the middle of the book right now. I don't get a lot of time to rip through the book like I would too. It is hard to find a spot to stop til I can pick it up again.
Hey, I'm in the middle of reading it, too! I love her work. I asked for the book as a Christmas present, so I can take my time and not worry about getting it back to the library.
Indeed. It's a worthy book to have, though I've completely ceased to buy books as I've run out of shelf space. I have a whole wall of books. Until I can dedicate an entire room, there is a moratorium. Plus, the library is such a lovely walk from my house, I absolutely love the excuse to take it.
My Mum got me the first one when it came out. I love them. I had some strange idea that this one was the last and then I'm halfway through it when i realised she wasn't tying up any ends. It takes her ages to write them, so I have to wait patiently. I don't mind because her research is meticulous.
