This is why I am very particular about book to screen transitions. Sure, the book will almost always be better than the adapted movie or television show. They'll always go all Hollywood on the adaptation. Like in the Harry Potter 6 movie, with the made up Ginny and Harry scene in the room of requirement. I mean the epilogue was bad enough come on.
