completely locked down

This journal was already half flocked, but I've now used the mass security tool to lock down all public entries. I've decided to leave a few recommendation pages up, however, and will probably eventually skim back through the journal and unlock a few other things ( Read more... )

I'm lucky enough that my mum, dad and brother couldn't speak English to save their lives- they know about my LJ, but can't understand a thing I'm saying in it. :)

But there are other people I really wouldn't want to find out. So I'm really sorry to hear this.

I have a feeling that at least a couple of my family may be reading mine over on my own domain - which is why I'm thankful for locked entries.

But yeah, that sucks. I'm sorry you had to do that... but definitely support your decision.

Thanks, luv *hugs* The commiseration definitely helps. I'm actually really surprised how many people have had similiar experiences, and that does go a ways to calming me down :p

Well, that stinks.

Know what you mean, though. I f-lock many things to keep them from (potentially) prying eyes, including Hubby's, just because I enjoy being free to speak my mind. Having family find stuff and ask annoying questions is something I want to avoid. Yech.

In regards to an earlier reply/comment you made--this person fished a fanfic from a *trashcan*? I don't think nosy begins to say it...(and I've buried/torn/shredded many a fic to hide it, so rooting in the garbage is a bit much, methinks).

My sympathy.

Ha! My sister found mine because she is obsessive about tracking referrals to her website. So when I referred folks to see her art, she found it. I doubt she'd read my stuff but it's still shitty.

Thank god I've flocked everything but the most generic of posts. I'm still mortified at the possibility of her reading anything I've written, but there's not much I could do about it after the fact. (she didn't tell me until she'd gone over all of it)

Actually, I've been debating making a fic/icon journal for myself. Just to be on the safe side.

Heh, I just locked down my fic journal too and removed the link from my sidebar here. Being that most regular journals and fic journals are intertwined, one still has to be careful, I think.

And oh, it is soo good to hear that I'm not just the lone unlucky bastard on my flist - reading the comments on this post, I had no idea how many people'd been found out at one point or another :p Helps with my perspective ;) Other people have lived, guess I will too *sporfle*

I guess I should be thankful 90 percent of my stuff is under an assumed name, and I'm the most technologically minded in my family.

But OW. *hugs* You poor girl. Nothing sucks more than a fmaily member than can't respect someone's privacy.

*clings to you* I'm the most technologically-minded too, but the power of curiosity should never be underestimated!
