Chains of Hope

I had the opportunity to help Kate a few years ago in passing out dog houses, hay, food, etc. That particular day she took over care for a cute little pup, and then the next day the owner surrendered another pup I'd fallen in love with.

I wanted to let you all know about a wonderful program my friend Kate Quigley has started. It is called Chain of Hope KC. Many of you already know Kate and the wonderful work she does for the animals. For those of you who aren't familiar with her work let me fill you in. Kate and her group of dedicated volunteers provide assistance to animals in need. Many of these animals have spent their lives on chains with not even the basics like food, water and shelter. Kate gets these animals spayed, neutered, vaccinated and provides the owners with dog houses, straw, food, toys, rawhides, and other basic things to make their lives as good as possible. She also tries to educate owners on how to care for their pets responsibly. Dogs that live with big tow chains around their necks are replaced with cable tie outs. She follows up with these animals to ensure they are being cared for properly. I have been with her and watched these animals cry and jump out of excitement to see her pull up because they know they will get some TLC and goodies. She is truly in the trenches and goes into neighborhoods where most people would be terrfied to go. She has saved many, many animals left behind by owners, starving or freezing, or roaming after being dumped. This is truly her life's passion. She was formerly with No More Homeless Pets but has decided to go out on her own and is calling this Chain of Hope KC. She has applied for her 501C3 and has had an offer from a local vet who would like to help her open a low cost spay neuter clinic up North. She has also had someone offer her an entire basement of a local business to store her supplies. She is back to working out of her truck with her limited supplies. I am doing a fundraiser for her to try and round up some of her most needed supplies to carry her over until her not for profit is complete. I have asked her to send me a wish list which I have included below. She is spending a fortune on gas for her truck out of her own pocket so gas cards would be wonderful!!! EMERGENCY FOSTER HOMES NEEDED
There is also an urgent need for temporary emergency foster homes. Many animals that need to be rescued can't without temporary housing until arrangements can be made to find a rescue to take them. If you would like to be an emergency foster parent please contact

There is no cost to you. All expenses will be taken care of through Chain of Hope. You will provide them with a warm place to sleep and lots of TLC until a place is secured for them to go.

Please pass this on to your friends, family, co workers, etc.
Thank you,
Kendra Albert
