I just had an AMAZING riding lesson! It's so much fun to be back on a horse, I really missed it. And this new teacher is so great, and really focuses on using muscles correctly. Plus, she's going to see if I can work off some of the cost of riding ( Read more... )

I think lots of people do make a big mistake in the way they do their blogging. All my posts are friends-only. I write for myself, and I use it as a way of letting friends know what I'm thinking or doing. Maybe showing cool things, or getting advice. That's all. (Feel free to differ) There are some sorts of blogs people use to talk to the whole world, and if you're doing that, I think you've got to either not give away who you are or where you live at all, or be like a newspaper journalist type blog, so it's not overly personal things that come up anyway...

I know what you mean about the whole dumping your emotions-in-your-blog. I do that often and then make the entries private. I have every blog I wrote back into high school (even the one you helped me start thanks by the way) and I am so glad I have those private blogs to go back to. One does not know where he is going unless he knows where he came from. I know a lot of people who do the sane thing as I do with the blogs and keeping some of them private. I think blogs should serve the purpose of keeping people updated on what you are doing in your life, and maybe thoughts and ideas on various matters. I guess everyone is different. Some people like drama and others who not like it, post with causion and avoid it.

That is a funny thought--I guess it boils down to how much you care about what other people think. If other people's reactions don't matter to you then writing your innermost thoughts in a completely public domain where anonymous strangers can judge you, then it makes no difference.
What bothers me are the people who think because they're posting in the vastness of the internet that they are some how immune from rebuke. People who think the internet as their own personal diary; and even though %75 of the world is on the internet, their diary is somehow special and what they say is above criticism.

If one wants to write, write. Don't send subliminal messages to people, that's what e-mails are for.
