Name: Viktor Sköld
Source: Original Character
Appearance: [Played-By is Toono Satoru (right) from Bukiyou na Silent]

Viktor has dark black hair and gray-blue eyes, he stands at 5'8, and strangely enough has fair skin for going outside so much to garden. He has a very thin build, and one can see how frail he is just by glancing at him. He usually wears light button-up shirts with the sleeves rolled to the elbows, and dark jeans so grass stains don't show up as easily. A dirt-stained white apron is normally present over his clothes, regardless of if he's at work or simply coming home from it. Worn grass-stained running shoes and gardening gloves complete his usual look.

Personality: Viktor has the inability to show what he's feeling on the outside, so he is usually very misunderstood when he actually does speak with people due to the repercussions of his powers. When he speaks, it's very shyly or quietly, and he never says too much unless rarely when he’s forced to babble. This normally only happens when he’s very flustered or a topic he’s very invested in is brought up (ex. Plants). That being said he gets flustered very easily, and will usually give up quickly if he is fighting with someone unless it’s about plants. He is very respectful of nature, and though he's not very good at showing it unless it’s very intense, may easily hold a grudge against someone who litters or carelessly harms anything to do with nature. The easiest way for him to express himself without getting nervous or flustered is through his plants; he’s very fond of ‘flower language’ because of this - a means of secretly communicating coded messages to someone via flowers, popular in the Victorian-era.

Viktor is incredibly shy and carries himself as such. Normally his posture is hunched, shoulders drawn close, and his hands are normally fidgeting with something or each other to help calm himself. He’s very tense and nervous with someone until he feels comfortable talking to them, then his stuttering and long absences in speaking seem to fade and he becomes more fluid - though it’s very rare this happens. Despite his nervous and quiet nature he's very easily strung along if someone is kind to him.

Though very submissive, if there is someone he feels attached to in some way, he will always do his best to try and make that person happy, no matter what. He likes to do things for others and tends to put more care into them than himself. The only thing that constantly and consistently can calm him down seems to be his flowers and nature in general. Being able to communicate with his flowers now with his new powers makes it easier for him to stay alone for long periods of time, investing all his energy into them. Viktor has always been very introverted and used to people not wanting to speak to him, so his reaction time to actions and words is a little delayed unlike other peoples. He's very sheltered which only furthers his introvert status, due to not having much to talk about to others aside from their own thoughts, or his plants.

Despite his quiet disposition and introverted nature Viktor is very cheerful and optimistic about things. He doesn't easily jump into disliking someone unless they do something majorly horrible. Despite this cheerfulness he has a bit of an inferiority complex and will often insist his skills aren't that great even though he is proud of his accomplishments and they make him happy. He's not afraid of getting dirty with activities like gardening or otherwise, but he isn't very athletic. Aside from lifting plants and staying outside often he doesn't have much stamina and would be bad at running or a lot of physical exertion.

Viktor's self-image isn't good, but it's far from bad either. He doesn't think much of his looks and doesn't pay much attention to them, and feels pretty average. His actions and reactions border on 'cute' and 'childish' when he's forced to express his thoughts, however. Despite being proud of his skills with flowers, and enjoying what he does, he doesn't think he's all that great, or that it's something he can brag about. Viktor isn't much of a confident or boastful person at all, and can't handle compliments all that well when they're given. On the other hand, most of the time he can't even realize he's being complimented if they're given in a roundabout way; people showing interest in him romantically is something he's never thought of and it flusters him.

Gender doesn't matter to Viktor in a significant other, more due to never having thought about the idea before than a preference gained during his nineteen years of life. He likes to believe in ghosts and places like heaven to a certain degree, but has never really focused on them much. Focusing on the here and now is more important to him than what will come after he's lived out his life.

History: Viktor comes from a regular world, a regular earth without any magical powers except for people who claim to be able to read the future; auras; sees the dead et cetera. Viktor is from ‘our’ earth and as thus, there is nothing too zany incredible about him. Ever since he was a baby, however, Viktor has seemed to be cursed with the inability to properly express himself on the outside. Words were learned and written, but never properly expressed. Expressions and visual reactions were hard to form. It wasn’t that Viktor was mute or unable to feel anything; he just couldn’t show them to others no matter what he seemed to do.

Making friends was next to impossible due to his normal stone-faced appearance. Questions were left hanging no matter how much he wanted to express himself, and silence was regarded as ‘rude’. As an older child a family friend’s younger son became his first and only friend; a young boy his age named Edvin. Unfortunately the patient boy couldn’t stay in his life forever, and moved away a few years later to Viktor’s surprise. All Viktor had since the start was his family, and they loved him as he was. Time made reading Viktor’s actions and occasional words easier, and his family became his friends; namely his grandmother.

Kind and fair, his grandmother ushered him the most to get over his expressive disability. She would patiently allow him as much time as he needed to speak, or offer alternative forms of communication via writing or gestures. Viktor found himself being put to work in her garden; a colourful and grand display behind her self-operated flower shop (Bramblewood) and upstairs apartment. He would help with chores as a child, and steadily worked his way up as he learned more being around his grandmother. Working in the garden or with the flowers in the shop became a passion to him, and his grandmother was happy to share it with him.

High school was monotonous; after-school visits to the flower shop to work and tend to the flowers were what Viktor looked forward to every day. Viktor wasn't teased or ridiculed in high school - just invisible. His quiet nature and blank stares tended to make his nervous classmates stay away. Teachers were sympathetic; guidance counsellors confused; but Viktor seemed fine as long as he had something to lose himself in. Flowers were comfortable, they were fun, his grandmother and family were there for him so he wasn't alone... Though, unfortunately along with high school, Viktor’s happy times with his grandmother would also end. A few months after his graduation she passed away, leaving her store and garden all to him. With his parents’ permission he moved into her old apartment above the flower shop and took over the business alone.

Life and work continued comfortably until the day Viktor awoke to a much different view than his usual plant-covered living room. Around him was the dark, desolate, deserted (and other bad words starting with D), demolished city of Tanoshimu. While only here for a brief period of time he was forced to speak or express anything on his mind as a repercussion of the new powers he was gifted with. The power to create and magnify the effects of plants was amazing to him, and even though he had no control…he was able to properly express himself to others now as well. It seemed like visiting Tano seemed to ‘fix’ everything that was wrong with him in his eyes, as well as bless him with new gifts at the same time.

Abruptly returning home so soon (a month) after arriving was surprising to Viktor. Like waking up from a dream or a terrible nightmare he quickly tried to see if he was alright… and as he saw his plants swaying gently in worry of if he was alright, Viktor knew his powers were still intact. To everyone else Viktor finally opening up a bit and speaking out was an incredible breakthrough - the loss of his grandmother must have done it. Viktor kept what he had seen and where he had been to himself, because no one had even known he’d left - time had barely passed back in his normal world.

Specific Abilities: While in tanoshimu-rp, Viktor lost the ability to keep his thoughts inward around others; meaning any consistent feeling ("I'm scared"), word ("No") or passing thought ("That's cute") that ran through his mind being held back would be blurted out quietly and quickly (or expressed in some way) following his first intended message. Thankfully, in return for such an unfortunate repercussion, Viktor was gifted with the best power ever (in his eyes); the ability to magnify the effects of plants, manipulate them, 'understand' them, and create/summon them from thin air at will.

Other less-stellar and more normal skills are his vast knowledge of normal earth plants, 'flower language', and knowing about various types of bugs.

Additional Information: Other than having a few seed packets in his apron pockets, a trowel, and a tiny pair of pruning clippers, nope.

Sample Journal Post: E-Eh? Ah...um. It happened a-again. I'm somewhere weird again- c-can someone tell me where I am?- I uh.

[ Viktor tries to take a calming breath, and he closes his eyes, before letting his mind do all the work for him. ]

I-I'm nervous and- a little scared- and I-I can't calm down- I had one of these in Tano- but- [ a gulp of breath, it's hard to breathe when he babbles. he raises his free hand up to the crown on his head, nestled in his dark hair. ]

This crown is um- made of rowan...they're s-said to be magic and- to protect against bad creatures... I-In mythology it's said to...to protect someone from getting lost on a journey.

But...I-I don't think that means it can help me get home...

Sample Post : It was days like this that Viktor truly enjoyed; the summer sun beat down and a light breeze kept the heat bearable. He adjusts his dirt and grass-stained gloves on his hands, reaching down to start weeding around his peonies. Large and impressive - today they were happy to have his company and swayed against the breeze to welcome his help. Warm thoughts were all he could sense off the living plants, and he was happy to be around him. Since coming back to his home the most wonderful part was being able to communicate with his flowers - it made him feel that much closer to them. Talking with customers was something he had to be careful with from now on, but the only situation that came close to being worrisome was a discussion on the pH levels of soil changing the colours of hydrangeas.

No matter how he insisted it was adding aluminum to the soil for blue, and subtracting for pink, she wouldn't have it.

As he pulls out a particularly nasty weed he stops to gaze up at the fluffy clouds in the azure sky above his head. Viktor's thoughts drift back to Tano - it seemed like such a far-off memory now. He wonders what had become of that place... he had never been on such an adventure in his life. Would something like that ever happen to him again?

It was scary to think about.

But at least, wherever he went... he'd have friends in the forms of plants. It brings a smile to his face and he sets back to work. Getting to his feet he trots back to the house to get the hose. As he adjusts a misting spray nozzle on the end he smiles at his vast array of plants.

"Ready...?"

Silent to the normal ear, he can feel and hear their happy cries - its a weird feeling, one he can't properly explain. Just as he sets to work watering he's jostled out of his happy stupor to hear a woman loudly demanding to know where she could find some help.

Whoops, his lunch break was over.

Viktor apologizes - promising his plants he'll be right back in a moment, he just needs to help one customer...then he'd be back!

He can hear their titters as he runs back, hands nervously wringing his apron.
