Stormy weather

Jan 19, 2007 13:51

Hmm. Seeing as I don't have that many chances to communicate with my husband who has just been sent to California for eight months (until end of August), I really should go back to using this journal. 8 hours (-) time difference to Japan didn't make a problem, 9 hours to California (+) very much do. Funny, that ( Read more... )

How lovely to see your name on my flist. Hope you're well, dear. The weather her was horrible yesterday and some fence panels came down but nothing as bad as some places.

I'm so pleased you got home safely.

*snuggles back*

There's been quite some damage, but - except for delayed trains - I was lucky enough NOT having to deal with them.
Yay for good wheather instinct. Last I fled from the office like that we got a pretty bad snow storm. My co-workers should learn to rely on my inner weather-forecast instead of mocking me. ^_^

So happy to hear you didn't suffer any serious things yourself. I was thinking about you, when I heard that the UK was even stronger influenced by the storm.

I was actually thinking of you just the other day, wondering how you were. I don't know how you and your husband can stand to be separated so much. :( Glad to hear from you, and I hope the train/weather situation straightens out soon.

Actually I really don't deal that well with the separation any more. It's growing worse for my whole state of mind.
Eight and half months are an awfully long time to separate, but right now, the idea, that I'll be flying over to LA on March 3rd for 2 1/2 weeks keeps me going. Afterwards I suppose it will be worse, but if i manage to make time in my schedule (and get some funds, because twice in a year, money will be an issue) I'll hope to go for a second stay in July or August. And in the meantime ... let's just hope for another great summer like the last one, and I might just be able to cope. My friends and family go great lengths to keep me from moping. :)

w00t! A post from Milena! How nice to hear from you, and I'm sorry you and your spouse are so far apart for so long. :(

Nature is quite the force with which to be reckoned...stay safe, yes?

On the plus side, his being in California gives me the first chance for a vacation abroad since 1998. I'll be flying over to L.A. on March 3rd, and will be staying for 2 1/2 weeks. Yayness. ^_^

... expect me to develop a depression after I'm back. Now I'm just looking forward to it.

Ah, the weather's been getting calmer all day today. Next thing will be snow, though. They were forecasting a drop in the temperature (which has been far, far too high all autumn and winter so far - actually we're joking about "April since November" around here), and due to the humidity that might result in snow.
Well, we'll have to take it as it is.

Are you alright? Looking at the news, the US seem to be buried in snow up to their rooftops?

*g* A lot of the US is, but not my corner...in fact, we've had NO snow at all (which is VERY unusual for us); I have pansies blooming in my garden. O.o

*snuggles you*

Enjoy your vacation. :)
