The distance from Cologne to Bonn is just 40 km.
1 hour 10 min on the Straßenbahn. A tad faster on Regio-trains, but it's a bit more of a hassle, since you have to change trains more often.
Sherlock, oh yes. That one came highly recommended.

Thank you for the compliment!
The rhythmic part, alas, was intentional. I just couldn't squeeze the file size any more down, so I had to skip a few pictures to keep the gif file LJ compatibly small.
More experienced icon dabblers could do a better job, I'm sure.
