Straight From the Faerie's Mouth '09, Class 2

Jan 30, 2009 13:28

Today, Tim was not alone in the room when the students came in. He'd been joined by a three foot tall, anthropomorphic cat, dressed like an English butler. This image was reinforced by the fact that said cat went around offering snacks to the students.

"Morning everyone, sorry about last week." Tim said. "I'd like you to meet Hobson." Hobson bowed. "Hobson is a Hobgoblin from England. He's what is known as a domestic sprite, or spirit. The 'hob' is old word for the hearth, which in the old world was the center of the home. You know, before the days of central heating. Hobgoblins did various jobs around the house, and in exchange, all they wanted was a bit of milk at the end of the day. No thanks were needed, or even wanted. Hobson fortunately has forgiven me for my constant thanking of him for helping me out."

As an afterthought he added; "Oh, and if anyone's interested in the TA position, see me after class."
