Today the students would find themselves in a thriving Astec city. Well not quite thriving, it was rather grey, and quiet, but it wasn't gloomy or spooky. They were at the foot of a great pyramid, which would have looked authentic except for the fact that the stairs were a long escalator.
"Welcome to Mictlan." Tim said. "The Ninth level of the Aztec Underworld. This is where you went if you were not a warrior, were not struck by lightning, or died in childbirth. The Aztecs were among many cultures apparently that not only encouraged you to be good with the promise of a heaven, but the better you were by their standards, the better the afterlife that awaited you."
He gestured to the escalator. "This wasn't an escalator when I was here, but there was no way I was gonna make you all climb this thing." He stepped onto it and began to ride up. "There's breakfast stuff at the top. Normally they only served warm beer and nachos, but again, I'm a nicer guy than the Gods."
[My apologies about the late posting. Please wait for OCD is up.]
