Being elves, or at least partially elves, neither Vanessa nor either of the boys had to sleep. So when she'd found out they'd be going back soon, they'd curled up together in her room, talking mind to mind among their internal stars. She still felt woefully unprepared to care for children, but the confidence and undeniable healthiness of the boys made her think that perhaps someday she would be ready.
For now, though, she was just going to enjoy her last hours with them.
