I have Alltel, but I'm switching to Nextel in June when my plan is up b/c Alltell likes to screw ppl over.

If you're not going to use it all that much, Virgin Mobile has been a good pre-pay thing for me.

If you're going to use it on a more regular basis, my sister recommends T-Mobile, and it's also what I plan on getting in a little bit.

I also have Virgin Mobile. I reccomend it if you do not think you will be using the phone a ton. And by a ton I mean more than 150-200 min a month.

I agree that Virgin Mobile seems to be good if you won't be using your phone a lot...which I'd assume to be true for you. ::shrug::
I've heard some bad things about T-Mobile. My aunt and uncle in Grand Rapids just signed a contract for that, and then found that they can't get reception in their own home, or in the Meijer by them, etc. Plus, I saw the styles of phones, and they look kinda crappy for the price...

I've a T-Mobile phone, it doesn't work at home, it barely works at work either. It also won't work out of the country, whereas a Virgin phone would.

My other sister has Verizon, and my brother in-law works for Verizon. I've heard bad things about it's reception in Kalamazoo, but I also have some friends in Kalamazoo who use it and are fine with the quality of service.

Verizon seems to have pretty bad reception in and around the muskegon area as well.

Seriously? I used my phone a lot when I was home over break, and it was fine.
