My b/f just told me that he'd be in Virginia in September to do some fancy dancy thing for the Navy. He's currently on deployment probably until sometime in the autumn after september. I don't think that's selfish at all. Some of the hardest parts of my husbands deployments have been when he was still stateside but training. He was HERE but I still couldn't see him. Omg...frustration!

Not selfish at all, on the way to the sandbox he had a lay over 4 hours away from me. it took everything i had to not jump in the car and go see him

That does suck. I'm sorry. My fiance is coming home soon, and I have to work the day he leaves ..I can still say goodbye the night before, or the morning, but I hate knowing I can't see him the last possible second before he goes away again. Not the same thing, but just trying to relate.

Try to look at it as something that is going to help his career out. My husband is deployed too and his ship had an emergency and he is now on the westcoast until further notice. It really hurts to know that he is in the states but I'm on the eastcoast so I cant exactly drive to see him.
