Kyungsoo thinks the world had gone mad. The rain poured heavily just by the time he missed his bus to class. Much to his luck, he forgot to bring an umbrella (or he really doesn’t have one to bring) and now he is soaking wet at the bus stop.
“God.” and then he let out a deep sighed. He sat on the metal bench (wet too and cold) and hugged himself waiting for the rain to stop. His mind is in a war whether he should go to class late and wet or just be absent. But schooool. It’s not that he has a quiz on trigonometry to take but a day spent without seeing Kai is more than boring. He rolled his eyes as he combed his messy wet hair. Deciding he will just go to class after the break this afternoon he grabbed his phone on his wet bag too (everything is wet) and texted Kai.

He laughs at his own text, pinching his arm. Inner soo is really naughty. He was waiting for Kai’s reply but to his dismay he didn’t receive any. He tried sending the previous text for a couple of times again making sure he really did send it but there was nothing.
The rain soon stopped and he decided just to take a walk back to his place, he needed time to think.
Sure, there is nothing wrong with his relationship with Kai, or that is what he wants to believe in. After meeting his friends and a couple of weekends spend either on his place or Kai’s, he believed that Kai really likes him and even Kai himself told him but these past few days seems odd. They still have their lunch together, their phone conversation before they sleep (sometimes Jongin would sing for him), but Kai is a little bit different. He was not the cheerful Kai that Kyungsoo had known. He acts strange and most of the time spacing out. One day he asked Kai what was wrong but the boy just ignored his question.
When he reached their house his mom had already left for work so he was left alone. He went directly to his room and quickly changed his clothes. He misses school already, Jongdae, Tao and his
Kai. He grabbed his bag, looked for his phone and lay down on his bed. Kyungsoo was contemplating whether to check the phone on his hand or just not. He was afraid to be disappointed that Jongin didn’t even bother replying to his text but inner soo pushed him to unlock his phone so with half-closed eyes, tap-tap-tap phone unlocked...

And then his phone fell off from his hand to his squishy face. “Ouch” because no text from Kai and another ouch because fuck that really hurt his face literally. He picked up his phone as he touched his face checking if nothing has been damaged (heart more damaged.)

Later that day, Kyungsoo showed up at the school. He tried looking for Jongdae and Tao at the canteen and he was not wrong. He saw the two at their usual spot and approached them.
“...just don’t tell Kyungsoo”
“tell me what?” Kyungsoo asked confusingly while the two seemed shocked at his sudden appearance.
“Didn’t he just say not to tell you? Stop being stupid.” Jongdae answered nervously trying to cover up their ‘secret’. “Why were you absent anyway?”
Kyungsoo thinks it was better to drop his question besides, he’s not in the mood for interrogation and it’s not that important right? “I woke up late and fucking got wet by the rain” he explained.
“Woah . Baby Kyungsoo is mad.” Tao then laughed almost spitting the noodles in his mouth. He’d never seen Kyungsoo this upset before.
“Bitch.” Kyungsoo gave Tao a glare while gritting his teeth “Where’s your cousin?”
Tao pointed at the table where Kai was having his lunch with his teammates. Kyungsoo was so mad. What is so funny that Jongin was laughing his ass off, huh. While he was worrying about him, he would find the other boy just enjoying his lunch. He didn’t even worry why he was not at school this morning. What if he got sick. What if he was hit by a bus. What if he was kidnapped. What if’s so many what ifs and he doesn’t give a single fuck. What’s wrong with you Kim Jongin.
Just then Kyungsoo noticed that his hand bleeding. He hit the table so many times unknowingly until he felt the pain. Jongdae and Tao were both surprised by the boy’s actions. Luckily, it didn’t catch much attention from the other students at the canteen.
“Hey Soo, let’s go to the clinic.” Jongdae was real worried. He wanted to ask Kyungsoo what’s the problem (of course obviously he knows its Kai) but taking him to the nurse seems more important right now.
“I’ll go with you.” Tao volunteered.
Little did they know, Kai saw the blood dripping from Kyungsoo’s hand...
“Holy shit”
Kai blurted when he saw the red liquids dripping from Kyungsoo’s hand
“What’s that?” Sehun asked before turning his direction where Kai was looking at.
He poked his bestfriend who was still in awe of the incident. “I thought you...?” he didn’t even finish his sentence when Kai cut him off.
“shut up we’re not talking about that.”
Sehun lay back to his chair then shook his head. “Little Jonginnie is love sick.” Jongin threw him the tissue papers at their table but Sehun just laughed.
“Just finish your food. You still have to help me with your cousin.” He leaned forward then wiped Jongin’s mouth with the tissue paper the other boy just threw him.
“Gross.” Jongin hit Sehun on his chest. “Let’s go follow them.”
“Why do you think Tao ignore me? Obviously you can’t reason that I am not good looking because I really am.” Sehun confidently said while the two was on their way to the clinic
“Because you’re so full of yourself. You’re conceited. You’re a brat. You’re a bastard! I told Tao about it maybe that’s why.”
“You ungrateful shit for being my bestfriend. How dare you! You’re supposed to help me!! Like how I help you with your DKSProblems!!!!”
“I didn’t ask for your help!! And I don’t have DKSProblems shit you’re talking about!” Kai retorted this conversation is non-sense...
“Really?? ‘Sehunnie, I miss Kyungsoo hyung.’‘Sehunnie, I’m going insane.’”
“Shut up. Fine. Okay. You win.”
Even before the two boys reach the clinic, the other three boys was on their way back to their room. Kai froze. He doesn’t know how to approach Kyungsoo after ignoring his text earlier. His mind is battling whether to hug his hyung or apologized for his action. It’s not as if he wanted to do that but his mind is so fucked up with so many things.
“Hi Tao.” Sehun said smiling while waving at the boy but Tao just rolled his eyes.
“C’mon. Jongdae. Let’s leave this to Kai and Kyungsoo.” He grabbed Jongdae’s hand “And you.” He pointed to Sehun. “Get lost.” Then they left.
“PMS” Sehun whispered to Kai before following the two other boys, leaving Kai and Kyungsoo alone.
“Hyung.”
“Don’t hyung hyung me.” Kyungsoo walked passed Jongin wishing Jongin would follow him but today is really the most disappointing day.

Kyungsoo was shocked to see Kai outside their room when he went out. The said boy was staring at the floor intently whilst stomping his feet. Their class was dismissed earlier than usual so he wonders what Jongin was doing here when he was supposed to be in his class. He grabbed the right strap of his bag on his shoulder then tried covering his face passing by Kai quickly.
It didn’t work though. Tao called his name making Jongin straighten up his position. ”Shit” He gritted his teeth as he looked back to Tao’s direction, but caught Kai’s eyes instead. Kai was smiling at him showing his perfect pearl-white teeth (not that Kyungsoo knows how white is pearl-white) and waving at him. How dare he make himself look cute. He couldn’t help but to grin at the view. He was supposed to be mad at Kai for ignoring him and making him look like an idiot but here he was again, smiling foolishly as he approaches the younger boy.
“I’m sorry?” Kai then grabbed Kyungsoo’s right hand and kissed it softly. How can he be madder when Kai treats him like this. Kyungsoo’s legs probably had turned jelly at the younger boy’s action but he managed to stay calm and compose himself.
“You still owe me an explanation.”
“I know Hyung. So are you willing to spend few hours with me? You wouldn’t mind right?” he chuckled nervously
Kyungsoo hit Jongin’s chest but of course he made sure it didn’t hurt. ‘You just want to touch him.’ From somewhere Kyungsoo heard inner soo whispered. He said yes at Kai’s offer, few hours were not even enough for him but he’s still willing to spend it with Kai. Kyungsoo could feel the smile reaching his eyes.
“Wait, Tao was looking for me earlier. Where is he”
“Don’t mind him, he’s taken cared of already. Now let’s go. ”
The two boys ended up at Mcdonald’s. Kai promised to bring Kyungsoo to a much better place once they graduate highschool (not also that he planned to take Kyungsoo out on a ‘date’ today). Kyungsoo smiled at the thought that Kai was planning for their future already. It might be that simple but Kai makes everything so special in Kyungsoo’s life. The place wasn’t even that crowded unlike usual days; majority are students he supposed and few couples. It’s still a perfect place with the perfect person. Kyungsoo shrugged.
“Hyung open your mouth.” Then Kai shove a couple of fries on Kyungsoo’s mouth, both of them laughed at Kai’s childish action. Kai grabbed a tissue then wipe the corner if Kyungsoo’s mouth. Sweet. Even sweeter than his fries dipped on his chocolate sundae. “hmmm” he moaned.
“I didn’t know you like your fries dipped on your sundae,” Jongin examined Kyungsoo as he licks his lips savouring the sweetness of the chocolate.
“Well, we’ve never been here together before.” Kyungsoo answered.
Through the whole date, Kai and Kyungsoo just talked about random things not talking about what happened between them today and these past few days. Kyungsoo wanted to ask Kai what was his problem but he decided its better not to pressure Kai. Instead, he asked what he knew about Sehun and Tao.
“I don’t think Tao likes Sehun though.” He admitted. Yes, it’s true he never heard Tao talking about liking anyone or even Sehun.
“But Sehun is persistent. I don’t know what’s on that bastard’s mind. ”
“Hey he’s your bestfriend, and Tao is your cousin you should at least care for their feelings.”
“Well I do care, but I care more about you.” He smiled at Kyungsoo who shrieked as he covered his face with both of his hands”
“Yah! Jongin stop it. You’re embarrassing me.” He buried his face on the table as hard as he can. Feels feels feels. Oh my god. Inner Soo. Please calm down.
Kai grabbed both of Kyungsoo’s hand and entwined with his.
“Hyung, look at me.”
“Fuck you Kim Jongin I’m so embarrassed right now.”
Kai chuckled. “Hyung not here, have some respect. Ronald is watching us.”
“Ronald who?” Kyungsoo then forgot that he was shy and looked at Kai confusingly.
“Ronald Mcdonald. You said you’ll fu----“ Kyungsoo covered Kai’s mouth too much embarrassment. Help.
“My hyung is so red.” He giggles and leans forward to Kyungsoo staring at Kyungsoo’s wide adorable eyes. For seconds they stay
like that, as if boring holes at each other's soul. Kyungsoo doesn’t know if he was hallucinating but he can see heart shapes on Jongin’s eyes. Was that even possible. He could feel Jongin’s breath and swear he could live with it forever.
“You should call me more often like that.” Jongin said breaking the stare,
“Call you what?”
“Jongin..”
“It sounds so sweet coming from you. I didn’t know I would like my name until I heard it coming from you.”
Jongin was telling the truth. Not that he doesn’t like being called by his real name, it’s just he grew up and he was used to being called Kai.
“Jongin.” Kyungsoo cupped Kai’s cheeks that made Kai blushed. Sweet revenge. Literally.
Thank heavens, today is a Friday and there’s nothing to worry about waking up early tomorrow morning. After their ‘date’ at McDonald’s the two boys decided to walk by the park before they go home.
“Higher Jongin!” Kyungsoo screamed as Jongin grabbed the metal chains of the swing and throw toss Kyungsoo into the air. Once they both got tired, they sat on the grass around the park not minding the dirt or even the ants and bugs that were busy enjoying their own lives (as long as they don’t harm them).
There were no stars when Kyungsoo looked up to the sky. He pouted.
“Maybe it will rain again”
“Are you some kind of a weather forecaster or what?” Kyungsoo teases Jongin poking the side of his body.
“Stars... There are no stars.. maybe it will rain again.”
It was only then that Kyungoo realized what he meant. He then looked back to the sky. Maybe Jongin was right.
“Hyung...” Kyungsoo turned to Kai’s side but the other boy was still fixed in his position. What was he looking at the sky keenly when there aren’t even stars?
“I’m sorry..” Kai started meeting Kyungsoo’s gaze.
“I’m sorry for being an idiot.”
“I know.”
“I knew it was wrong to ignore you but my mind was so messed up. I don’t know what to do... I don’t know what to say to you. I don’t know how to tell you.”
“Tell me what?” Kyungsoo swear his heart stopped for a moment. He was scared to listen to Jongin but at the same time he was eager to know what was bugging Jongin’s mind.
“Hyung, listen okay?”
“Last week I was talking to Sehun and he was asking me to convince Tao to go out with him. I was a bit annoyed like can’t he do it by himself? But then I realized Tao was not giving him any motive or hint that he would willingly go out with Sehun... Then I remember you. I remember us. I smiled when I think about you liking me. I was lucky right? You made me felt it. You made me felt appreciated and treasured and most of all I felt the love. I was lucky that you like me like how much I like you or even much greater than that.”

“But also I felt bad. I realized what are we? Is it enough that you just like me and I like you? Is it enough that I want you and you want me too? I was scared. I was scared that if we put title with what we have right now everything would be much complicated. I was thinking of that too much. I needed space, but I was looking for your presence. I don’t know how to tell you because I’m afraid you’ll just laugh at me. But earlier when I saw you hitting that poor table, yes I know it’s so lame to get sign from a table, I think I know already what’s the right thing to do.”
“Hyung... Will you be my boyfriend?”
Kyungsoo wasn’t able to respond. Instead, he sobs and sobs hugging his knees.
“C’mon hyung stop crying.” He wiped the tears on Kyungsoo’s cheeks then pinched his hyung’s nose. Surprisingly something sticky came out. “Gross.” Kai looked for his handkerchief and gave it to Kyungsoo to blow his nose.
“Are you done?” Jongin asked.

“My hyung is so red.” He giggles and leans forward to Kyungsoo staring at Kyungsoo’s wide adorable eyes. For seconds they stay
like that, as if boring holes at each other's soul. Kyungsoo doesn’t know if he was hallucinating but he can see heart shapes on Jongin’s eyes. Was that even possible. He could feel Jongin’s breath and swear he could live with it forever.
“You should call me more often like that.” Jongin said breaking the stare,
“Call you what?”
“Jongin..”
“It sounds so sweet coming from you. I didn’t know I would like my name until I heard it coming from you.”
Jongin was telling the truth. Not that he doesn’t like being called by his real name, it’s just he grew up and he was used to being called Kai.
“Jongin.” Kyungsoo cupped Kai’s cheeks that made Kai blushed. Sweet revenge. Literally.
Thank heavens, today is a Friday and there’s nothing to worry about waking up early tomorrow morning. After their ‘date’ at McDonald’s the two boys decided to walk by the park before they go home.
“Higher Jongin!” Kyungsoo screamed as Jongin grabbed the metal chains of the swing and throw toss Kyungsoo into the air. Once they both got tired, they sat on the grass around the park not minding the dirt or even the ants and bugs that were busy enjoying their own lives (as long as they don’t harm them).
There were no stars when Kyungsoo looked up to the sky. He pouted.
“Maybe it will rain again”
“Are you some kind of a weather forecaster or what?” Kyungsoo teases Jongin poking the side of his body.
“Stars... There are no stars.. maybe it will rain again.”
It was only then that Kyungoo realized what he meant. He then looked back to the sky. Maybe Jongin was right.
“Hyung...” Kyungsoo turned to Kai’s side but the other boy was still fixed in his position. What was he looking at the sky keenly when there aren’t even stars?
“I’m sorry..” Kai started meeting Kyungsoo’s gaze.
“I’m sorry for being an idiot.”
“I know.”
“I knew it was wrong to ignore you but my mind was so messed up. I don’t know what to do... I don’t know what to say to you. I don’t know how to tell you.”
“Tell me what?” Kyungsoo swear his heart stopped for a moment. He was scared to listen to Jongin but at the same time he was eager to know what was bugging Jongin’s mind.
“Hyung, listen okay?”
“Last week I was talking to Sehun and he was asking me to convince Tao to go out with him. I was a bit annoyed like can’t he do it by himself? But then I realized Tao was not giving him any motive or hint that he would willingly go out with Sehun... Then I remember you. I remember us. I smiled when I think about you liking me. I was lucky right? You made me felt it. You made me felt appreciated and treasured and most of all I felt the love. I was lucky that you like me like how much I like you or even much greater than that.”
Kyungsoo wiped the tears coming out from his eyes
“But also I felt bad. I realized what are we? Is it enough that you just like me and I like you? Is it enough that I want you and you want me too? I was scared. I was scared that if we put title with what we have right now everything would be much complicated. I was thinking of that too much. I needed space, but I was looking for your presence. I don’t know how to tell you because I’m afraid you’ll just laugh at me. But earlier when I saw you hitting that poor table, yes I know it’s so lame to get sign from a table, I think I know already what’s the right thing to do.”
“Hyung... Will you be my boyfriend?”
Kyungsoo wasn’t able to respond. Instead, he sobs and sobs hugging his knees.
“C’mon hyung stop crying.” He wiped the tears on Kyungsoo’s cheeks then pinched his hyung’s nose. Surprisingly something sticky came out. “Gross.” Kai looked for his handkerchief and gave it to Kyungsoo to blow his nose.
“Are you done?” Jongin asked.
“As I was say----“
Kai’s eyes widened the moment Kyungsoo brought his lips to meet Kai’s. That was a quick kiss though... His heart was a ticking time bomb soon to explode. He didn’t need more words. It’s enough.
“You only want to be my boyfriend for my lips.” Kai jokingly said hugging Kyungsoo to his chest.
“Jongin~ah... It’s worth the risk, right?”
“For you, hyung, everything is.”
“Hug me tighter, let’s stay like this.” Kyungsoo buried his head to the crook of Kai’s neck smelling the scent of the other boy
“We still have more forever to spend with each other...”
“I wouldn’t mind.”
“Ouch!”
“What’s that Hyung?”
“Ants”
“So sweet.”
The rain poured heavily just by the time he missed his bus. Much to his luck, he forgot to bring an umbrella (or he really doesn’t have one to bring) and now he is soaking wet at the bus stop. He doesn’t mind though as long as he is with Jongin.
