I think this is absolutely true - the opposite of love is not caring one way or another about someone. And, yeah, you know you are over someone when you (mostly) don't think about them much at all. If you passionately hate them, you are clearly not over them.

and now i can't help but be honest with people when they hold grudges! i guess one can't help but acknowledge intense feelings...but eventually you have to travel through it and let it go.
