* I've been hearing from several folks that Wal-Mart is selling the sets for around $20 (thanks,

The Wal*Mart I went to is a VERY SMALL store with a pretty small selection (we couldn't even find Dramamine in the phramacy last night), and they carried it - probably because it is a new release.
The music cuts are insane and it makes me really sad. What happened that they couldn't get rights? The music they've subbed in is pretty horrible and sounds very late 80s.

I've edited the post to say it's varrying in availibilty by region versus Wal-Mart size, since that seems to be what's going on (I checked with a few non-fandom friends who work at Wal-Mart and one's carrying it in MA and one's NOT carrying it in the midwest).
What I'm getting from my lone corporate source (AKA: swiping info from SOL ;-)) is that getting complete music rights would've been very expensive (It cost something like one million bucks to get full clearence for everything in season 1 of Happy Days according to the SOL dude). Since sales were decent but not incredible, I think they decided to cut down to the absolute basics (which shows in the packaging and lack of extras. AGAIN. SOME MORE.) to make more of a profit off of it and get the rest of the show out. And really, if they're never going to give us extras, they should at least release a set a year. And give us Season 8 for $17.50!
