Gorey art
- The University of Hawaii art department is currently showcasing the art of Edward Gorey so I visited the gallery and got to see personal sketch books, prints, children's books, etc. I remember watching the Masterpiece Theatre animated intro as a little kid and being intrigued by the perceived sketchiness(even though it's all precise lines and patterns) of his style. I like sketchiness.Bill Peet, Hayao Miyazaki's manga, Quentin Blake. The textures and rawness and hurried...controlled...randomness.
- Bruna Tenorio fairly recently did a run in the Anthropologie catalog. I don't know about you but I think the models they tend to use are....not pretty...? I don't know if this is a marketing strategy so you focus on the clothing or what. Also their models sort of...just stand around and react to the environment. More acting than modeling. Maybe that's what they want...but a talented model really ups the luxury factor IMHO. I feel like Bruna brings class and elegance to the photoshoot. ...but that might just be bias talking. :P
