I received a call from my doctor yesterday regarding the ultrasound photos.  thought she was calling to correct the sex of the baby, but they were dead on with the fact it was a girl. The news was about Zoe's lip. They thought it looked like she might has a slight cleft. I was kind of in a panic yesterday and had to schedule a level 2 ultrasound as ( Read more... )

I have seen photos of the work Operation Smile does to toddlers with cleft palates in 3rd world countries, they do beautiful work. Your baby will have it even better! You will hardly see a scar if they have to operate on her as an infant, ans since she'll be so little, she will never even know. Isn't it great that you can be told ahead of time these days, and that you can know what to expect, and that it will also be taken care of right away?

She will be beautiful and healthy. :)

she will be beautiful no matter what! My good friend has one, too! Like any part of your body, it just becomes part of who you are.

Clefts are common. When I was born a girl who was born at the same time had a cleft too. Getting it fixed is easy, so yay on that!!!!!!
