Time Management

RL continues to impinge on my IL (internet life, that is) in a frustrating way. I'm seriously in awe of the people on my f'list who manage full time jobs, fanfic, knitting projects, children, a relationship with a significant other/spouse, travel, parties and other social activities, concerts, plays, etc. and still regularly update their LJs. Good to see you posting again! I'd been wondering a couple days ago where you'd disappeared to.

Yeah, RL can kind of consume you, can't it? Even if it's just family and a job, that can be enough to take all your time and then some. You're right, I don't know how someone can handle so much and still keep an updated LJ; I envy those types of people.

I hope you find some time to keep writing here, though. If nothing else, it's a bit of a break from the daily stresses of RL.

Thanks! RL is crazy these days -- it's mostly good stuff, but it's totally drained away time I used to spend in fannish pursuits. I'm still struggling to find a balance that works.

I see that you've been having a hard time yourself -- I've got my fingers crossed that you'll find a balance that works, too. *hugs*

Yeah, I've been looking at it as a wake-up call to try and do a better job of balancing out my life. I'm making the effort now and I know it won't be easy long term, but I want to.

Glad that RL is at least being good to you as repayment for dragging you away from fandom. But I do hope to see you here more often.

Hey, girl! Posting every day seems like a pretty demanding task, but I guess it all depends on what you're aiming for. I imagine you'd use a different goal depending on whether you're just trying to write more words and get flowing, or whether you just want to keep in touch with your online friends better, etc ( ... )

I'm not even sure -- I want to keep in touch with online friends, and keep a finger in fandom, but I also want to get in the habit of writing something, if not every day, then regularly, you know?

I know what you mean about the multiple blogs. I set up one under my pen name that I never use, and another one to use for personal stuff, but I can't seem to use that one either. I also got a myspace page, because C has one and that's the only way to get to see her pictures there, but I too hate the interface with the burning fire of a thousand suns! Having more to choose from sets up a paralysis in me -- I think of something to write about, then I start to dither about which journal to post it in, and when I can't decide I end up just not writing anything. :-/

Hello! I need to get on more of a schedule for some things myself. Like exercise! I seriously need to drop 10 more pounds -- probably if I got off my ass and quit hanging around LJ I could do that.

Hey there! I totally know what you mean. I started lifting weights twice a week and once I learned the routine by heart I did it while watching TV shows. It's a lot harder to simultaneously lift weights and read a computer screen!

Yep, what little tv I do watch is accompanied by exercise. I do mainly resistance band work and cardio, but I seem to have plateaued which is pretty frustrating. :/
