Down to Earth. Shameless fluff, as is most of my stuff. :D
Kara bit her lip as she flew into the window of Cassie's bedroom. Her ankle was hurting terribly, and she didn't want to show it. She hadn't expected it to keep hurting this bad once her powers came back. Right now, she just wanted to collapse and hope it felt better in the morning.
"Babe!" Cassie flew up and embraced her girlfriend. She caught a glance of the pained expression on her face. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing. I'm fine." Kara lied with a fake smile, carefully floating a few inches off the ground. "How was your day?"
"Boring." Cassie rolled her eyes. "I've been waiting to see you all day."
Cassie casually stepped up on Kara's feet to kiss her in mid-air, like she normally did. But this time, Kara suddenly cried out in pain and crumpled to the ground, clutching her right leg.
"Kara!" Cassie dropped down and knelt next to her girlfriend. "What did I do? I just - "
Kara shook her head, fighting back tears. "It wasn't you. I - I thought it wasn't that bad."
Cassie gently eased Kara's leg out from under her. Carefully undoing Kara's boot, she placed the injured foot in her lap and looked it over. It was swollen and badly bruised, and Kara hissed in pain as Cassie's fingers lightly brushed it.
"Kara, how the hell did this happen?" Cassie asked. "I thought you were invulnerable. Was it a kryptonite, or - "
"I wish!" Kara said, frustrated. "This is all my fault. I was hanging out at Titans Tower, and the boys were putting together an impromptu soccer game. It looked fun, and I wanted to give it a try. But it was a no-powers game. And then I remembered..."
"The watch."
"I figured I'd just use the red sun watch to turn off my powers for the game, and then turn them back on. What could it hurt, right?" Kara stared ruefully at her ankle. "I guess that's what. So stupid."
"Hey, nothing stupid about getting hurt while kicking the boys' collective butts at soccer, right?"
"I tripped over the ball before I could even score one goal. Next thing I know, Jaime's carrying me off the field." Kara said with a deep pout on her face.
Cassie laughed. "I know a little about being a spaz in sports. Let's get you an icepack."
"It's taking a really long time to heal, though. Normally, when my powers turn back on, minor injuries start to heal immediately. This still really hurts."
Cassie looked over Kara's ankle again. "Well, if it's that bad, you might need more than an icepack. We should probably go get it x-rayed or something."
Kara nodded and allowed Cassie to pick her up in her arms. Ankle or not, she could still fly, but letting her girlfriend hold her right now was very appealing.

"I am never going to live this down." Kara sighed as Cassie fluffed up some pillows for her to place her foot on. "I mean, it hurt, but broken? Apparently I can fight intergalactic invaders without messing up a hair, but five minutes without my powers on a soccer field, and I nearly cripple myself. The boys are going to go nuts when I show up to the next Titans meeting on crutches."
"It'll heal quickly. You heard what they said - two weeks or so and it'll be good as new, with your powers." Cassie bent down and gave Kara a quick kiss on the forehead. "Besides, I think it's kind of cute. The doctors even made your cast match your costume."
Kara looked down at the blue, red, and yellow cast on her ankle and smiled slightly. "It is pretty. Too bad Bart's probably going to draw the Sistene Chapel on it in five seconds when he sees me."
"I'll fend him off at the pass if you want to keep it clean." Cassie giggled. "And speaking of which, Linda Lang's going to need some help carrying her books to class. I think I'm game for that."
Kara blushed. "You're doing a really good job of ruining this perfectly nice bad mood I'm in."
"Well, wait till you see what my next act is." Cassie purred as she nibbled on Kara's neck. The dull ache in her ankle aside, Kara smiled. If this was any indication, Cassie was going to make these next two weeks fly by.
