Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or otherwise. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! And I will answer them all in a comment. Possibly with pictures. I fail at pictures.
1. Riddler. I'd love to see him as an OCD super-genius obsessed with figuring out Batman's ID.
2. Black Mask. The idea of a twisted, pure evil crime boss who's completely sane would be a nice counter to the Joker.
3. Harley Quinn. Obviously we're not going to see the Joker again, but Harley as a cult leader devoted to his "message" would be fascinating.
4. Phantasm. Sure, she's only from the cartoon, but she would be great as a fellow vigilante who's crossed way over the line and needs to be taken down.
5. Dr. Hugo Strange. Not as the main villain, but as a deranged Arkham psychiatrist who tries to figure out Batman's ID after he's captured.
Ooh, I love tropes! :DmilleniumrexAugust 12 2010, 01:51:49 UTC
1. Hurt/Comfort Fic - Well, duh. ;) Although I don't usually use the tropes actually listed there as related. I tend to write lighter H/C, focusing on physical pain (injuries, etc.) as opposed to deep psychological anguish.
2. Has Two Mommies - I write a ton of femslash, and I love kidfic. So this is kind of a natural fit. It can either be through adoption, a donor, or ficmagic. Kara being pregnant with Cassie's baby is probably my ultimate fic happy button.
3. Handicapped Badass - Oracle rules, of course. When I write "disability fic", I usually try to work this trope in, rather than writing straight H/C.
4. Jerkass Woobie - I love this type. The damaged but inherently good character who doesn't want anyone to feel his or her pain. Rose Wilson is a note-perfect version of this character, as is Wolverine when written well. One of my favorite archetypes to write about.
5. Twisted Ankle - Probably my favorite H/C trope. It's not particularly angsty, but it allows for cuddling and TLC, and bonus points if it either happens at an

Heee! Those are all awesome! I like all of those too. :D
I looove redemption stories. And Rose. Jason, I like on occasion--but I kind of prefer him when he's being an insufferable asshole and is unapologetic about it--but is not actually as much of an ass as he pretends to be. Kind of like Sawyer on Lost, or Dean Winchester.
Also, EEEEE COMMENT-FIC!! \O/ YOU ARE AWESOME. /runs off to comment!

The first four have been favorites of mine for a really long time, the fifth is someone I came to appreciate a lot more recently. :)
