Coloring Tuts

Oct 05, 2006 10:07

Done in PS 7. Should translate pretty easily.
Since several people asked how I did the coloring on this recent set, here are a couple examples. Every icon in that set was done using the colors contained in these 3 tuts at different blend modes and opacities =)

Okay, I get my base cropped down to 100x100. Then I duplicate it and set it to Screen 100% and then go to either IMAGE>>ADJUSTMENT>>HUE/SATURATION or LAYER>>NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER>>HUE/SATURATION and bump up the saturation a bit. I had mine on +28 for this particualr icon, but you'll need to adjust the number accordingly for your picture.

Exclusion 100% #031F37

Softlight 100% #ECB1F5

Colorburn 85% #59D2F9

Multiply 100% #F6E8C6

Screen 100% #790000

That looks pretty good, but I wasn't quite happy with it. So I duplicated my base, brought it up top and set it to Screen 78%.

To finish off, I added another eclusion layer at the top.

set to 100% #121A2C

This one is quite similar to the previous one. Jsut a few steps different :)

Crop your base down to 100x100 then duplicate and set to Screen 76% and desaturate.

Softlight 100% ##ECB1F5

Colorburn 41% ##59D2F9

Multiply 100% ##F6E8C6
