Requested by g_byrd03 Sorry it took so long!
Done in CS2, but should translate for the most part.
Image heavy. I do not explain everything such as cutting images in detail, but if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.

Make a graphic like this:

Okay, I started off with a blank 800x600 blank file and then added this texture from ownthesunshine

As you can see it doesn't cover the whole canvas so I duplicated the texture layer, and flipped it vertical. I then moved it up and to get it to line up a closely as possible, I had the move tool selected and then used the arrow keys on my keyboard to nudge it into place.

Next I wanted to add the main images. After cutting them, I placed them on the texture. Each one is duplicated as well. The original picture layer on each one is set to Normal 60% and the duplicate is Softlight 100%.

I added this tape brush from...? I don't even have the original brush anymore. I pulled this off of another graphic that I had used it for and thought it worked well with this one as well.
The first layer was a little transparent so I duplicated it to make it cover up the bottom of the picture better.

I made a new layer above that and used the rectangel marquee tool to make a box and filled it with a pattern from Hybrid Genesis

Next I used one of PS custom shapes to make a butterfly, but you can just use a brush or what ever you want. I filled it with the same pattern from HG that I used on the box. I made another new layer and used this brush from Portfelia.com

I duplicated the layer to make it darker.

Next I added another picture and sized it down to that it was just a little bit taller than the black box that I just added. I duplicated the layer, then scaled it down so that it was a little bit smaller, then duplicated that layer again and scaled it down so that it was smaller than the last one.

Next I added a couple of the squished text brushes from ownthesunshine The { is the Script MT Bold font at 190 pt and the X's are a brush from Portfelia.com. I also added 2 more thumbnail pictures. I have no idea where the little polaroid brushes that I used are from. My downloads folder got wiped out about a week ago some how(probably the kids :p) so I can't go back and check. So if you recognize them, please let me know so I can credit. I just placed the brush on a new layer then pasted the picture above it and did any necessary scaling to make it fir properly. I then duplicated the layer and desaturated one of them. I also rotated them each a little bit to make them fir better within the space that I wanted them.

Next I wanted to add some text. The theme of the challenge that I made this for was Material Girl, so I used some lyrics from the song. Before I did the text though I made a new layer and used the rectangle marquee tool and made a strip the length of the graphic and filled it with black. I did all of my text in Times New Roman. On some I added a 3px stroke in black and the littler text on the black strip is italicized.

To finish it off I added a couple of adjustment layers at the top. The first was a black and white gradient map adjustment layer. I wanted to make the two bigger pictures black and white and gradient maps work great for this. Now since I put the gradient map on top of everything, it made the whole graphic black and white O__O

Easy fix. Each adjustment layer come with a layer mask as well. So I just took on of the round default PS brushes in black(black takes away, white brings back) and brushed over the parts that I wanted to keep colored.

I also added a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. The setting are brightness +11 and the Contrast is +22. The blend mode is set to Darken 100%.

And that's it :)

I never was really pleased with the layout of the graphic, so just now I changed a few things around and got this, which I think looks much better than the original so it pays to experiment a bit. LOL
