Day 1

Sep 21, 2009 10:55

The sun was obscured by dark clouds and fog. As the new residents unpacked and set up their new homes they were interrupted by ominous ringing of the bells in the town square. Gathering they found Jeeves looking solemn standing in front of a podium a duck puddling around at his feet.

"I have a grave news today. The baker JoelZero was found ( Read more... )

I feel quite confident that werewolves would not eat waffles, thus although I am new to this picturesque location, I already count the waffle eaters (and bakers) among my villagy friends.

Although I find a dislike of waffles to be a distressing sign, I don't think it's actually proof of wolfiness.

I would feel better about voting if there was anyone with a smear of blood left on their mouth or an odd accumulation of fur in the shower drain.

I don't suppose anyone has noticed particularly sharp teeth when dining in the evening?

((You have to do it in bold for it to get counted by http://cuddlepuddle.org/~adam/lj_games/millershollow/624.html so do < b > flipperchaz < / b > ))

Strictly speaking, bolding is not necessary for the automated scripts, although the Mayor may require it for his sanity. In fact, the script strips out all html markup before processing the text.

The script should pick up any instance of the word vote followed by a valid player name. Ditto for the word unvote. Also, the word "I" followed by the word "abstain" will count as an abstention.

If you look at http://ma8p.com/~adam/ljgames/millershollow/624.html#9672 you'll see his vote is highlighted in yellow, which is how the script indicates that it has detected a vote, even though he did not bold the text.

It should probably also be noted that a "valid player name" is a fuzzy match on actual player names using some crazy algorithm I came up with to account for misspellings.

Have any players from previous games changed their usernames? Or are all the names I don't recognize new players?

Immigration dragonattack September 21 2009, 20:31:11 UTC
Stepping out into the morning, and being confronted by waffles, dragonattack goes to the front of his cabin, and hangs a new sign. Turning back to the village, he adresses them. "Greetings, friends. Being a new immigrant here from New Werewolfton, I am bringing with me some of our culture, and offering a new service to this town. I have founded Villager's Anonymous. Anyone who would like to attend, is welcome, as long s they are willing to say our motto, "I am nothing but a lowly villager." We've found that self-actualization is the first step to accepting our lot in life as a rag-tag lynch mob. Our founder, rest his soul, wanted to change the motto to "Boy can we village," but unfortunately he was lynched before the last lycanthropes were found..."

Enough exposition. I Vote gwydion82
