I posted in my blog how I felt a little sorry for movie Victoria, but in retrospect (after being reminded of the "people like him" quote) I guess she really deserved it.
I also enjoyed the Yvaine pursuit bit, and the hair turning to Stardust, and the "corny" glowy thing -- elements from the books that were "exploited" (as you put it). And yes, Una was a perfect mother figure for Yvaine.
As for the ending, I also appreciate the happy changes (yay happy ever after talaga), though I still like the bittersweet version in the book.

Hahah, Movie Victoria was great, in a "she's so gonna get it" way. XD Book Victoria would have been boring in the movie, so getting a livelier version of her was a great change. Oh yeah, most everyone was livelier in the movie, I really liked that.
The glow was awesome, I'll be quoting that shine-comment for all time!
The novel ending was great for the novel, the movie ending was great for the movie. I'm just glad there were two versions. XD The movie will be on my cheer-me-up shelf as long as it comes out on video! <3
