The man, the towel, the legend.

Jul 21, 2008 14:45

I have gotten my brother Ching Yang, affectionately known as LB around these parts, into Battlestar Galactica. I subsequently made him a motivational comic which I pasted in his room to let him know that he too, can save mankind, if only he would hit the gym and parade around in a skimpy towel once in a while.

I shall share it with you all, because one can never have too many saviours of mankind. )

I salute your salutation! I know it counts for much less than if it were fat Apollo who was doing the salutation, but still.

I would attempt a witty compliment, but all wit fails in the presence of the Comic.

Mark's expression more than suffices. I bet you get a lot of mileage out of that icon.

Does LB stand for Little Brother? Because if so, omg I am so smart to figure that out.

Not quite, although that would make sense! It is the product of his name undergoing 17 years of constant evolution.

ha! how leet!

I randomly found you by searching for jiang yuyuan in the interests box and you are the only person to show up. Seems I had seen your icon journal previously while looking for some olympic icons, too..

Then Galactica? You are one leet person.

Yep, I've apparently been the sole Yuyuan fan on LJ for quite some time! She's gorgeous, isn't she? She's one of my absolute favourite gymnasts of this quad and I am so glad that she's been brilliant thus far at these Games! I'd love to see her medal in the AA.

BSG is awesomesauce. I will never stop loving Fat Apollo.

Well I honestly took a break when Carly Patterson retired and I only just watched again when the US trials were on tv. Actually, I took a break after the whole 2000 trial debacle and the bad showing there. It was sad days for the US and for the sport as a whole.

I'm going to have to go ahead and add her to my interests as well. I haven't updated my interests list in ages so it doesn't really reflect, well, my interests. Ha! Unfortunately I don't see her taking a medal in the AA considering Liukin & Johnson are just the bread and butter of the field, and Yang Linlin scored qualified higher, so for Jiang Yuyuan to make it, she'd have to out perform her teammate. I wouldn't mind, though. :)

I need more icons of her, though, all I've got is this adequate one that a friend made hehe

haha yeah Galactica is leet for sure. I took my sweet time getting into it but once I did I was hooked and have been a proponent of the cylons from day one. I am very excited about the coming half season and movie as well as very interested in the ( ... )

for Jiang Yuyuan to make it, she'd have to out perform her teammate.

It's very tight between the two! Yilin beat Yuyuan in prelims because JYY very uncharacteristically bombed her Amanar; Yuyuan actually beat Yilin at Chinese Nationals this year. In the run-up to these games, although Yilin bested Yuyuan when they participated in the French Nats! Yuyuan was largely considered the Chinese favourite to medal in AA at these games, although Yilin's consistency so far definitely puts her in the mix.

Unfortunately I don't see her taking a medal in the AA considering Liukin & Johnson are just the bread and butter of the fieldI actually don't agree with that, the scores indicate that the AA will be a very exciting battle between the Chinese and the Americans (this is of course assuming that all 4 bring their A-game and no one falls ( ... )

Fat Apollo was probably the best part of that fairly dire season 3. I love him so.

(Just not as much as Fit and Towel-Clad Apollo.)

I LOVE THE THIRD SEASON! (It's the second season that has big problems :P)

Aw, really? I am not a fan of the self-contained format of season 3; I largely enjoy BSG is because of the multi-episode arcs which grants this show the luxury of more fluidity, plot and character development than most others.

The 3rd season started off promising, I liked the New Caprica arc very much (but that stretched over a number of episodes, if I recall), but beyond that I didn't think that the issues the show was trying to engage in and explore in the 3rd series, and in general, were particularly compatible with stand-alone episodes.

Season 3 also has the dubious distinction of containing some of the worst fake-lawyering I've seen on telly. Which was kind of amusing, in a WTF Oh-Apollo-Just-Shut-Up-And-Take-Your-Shirt-Off way for me.

I'm not hating on S3; it just didn't do it for me, unfortunately. What made it so enjoyable for you?
