Neil Gaiman speaking at MIT on Friday, May 23rd

Apr 20, 2008 15:34

Neil Gaiman's coming to town! The acclaimed novelist, screenwriter, and comic book demigod will be the featured guest at MIT's inaugural Julius Schwartz Lecture series at 7-10pm Friday, May 23rd. This promises to be a departure from Neil's standard (and always highly entertaining) readings. In the proposed format, Neil first will deliver a talk, followed by an "Inside the Actor's Studio"-style interview conducted by Henry Jenkins, chairperson of the Comparative Media Studies program (Professor Jenkins knows way more about comics than James Lipton). After the interview, Neil will do a Q&A session with the audience.

Tickets for this unique event are $8 each and they're on sale here at MYP. Tickets are cash only to facilitate smooth bookkeeping between us and MIT. Come in now to pick yours up.

Also, the MYP will be at the event hawking Neil's wares, including some out of print Sandman t-shirts. Proceeds from the sale of tickets and t-shirt will go toward sponsoring future speakers in the lecture series.

If you want to call to reserve tickets (617-492-6763), you must pick them up within 48 hours. No call-in reservations for tickets after May 14th. Four tickets maximum.

ETA: It's GENERAL ADMISSION. Doors open at 6pm.
