This deep, philosophical piece is inspired by a very powerful and moving film I watched today. I hope this fic will spark inspired debate.

Simon Skinner extracted the DVD from the player. His face was deep in concentration. He placed DVD back in its container, then took it and a copy of King Lear down to the bar. He placed the DVD on the bar top and watched it fade away with a look of deep concentration on his face. He ordered a glass of wine. He walked over to the fireplace and took a seat in an armchair. He read a few lines, sipped a few sips, then looked into the fire with that look of concentration.
Seconds passed. Minutes passed. The book was neglected, as was the wine. Still Skinner didn’t move from the armchair, nor did his look of concentration fade. Not even the unexpected landing of a paper airplane on his scantily haired head could break his concentration. Finally, Skinner reached for his wine, sipped, and resumed reading.
He concluded that, while The Lion in Winter was certainly an excellent film, he had absolutely no desire to have sex with Anthony Hopkins.
