It's been a few days. Jack's spent most of the time up until now sorting through the debris-- sometimes with help-- and salvaging what there was to salvage.

There's both more and less damage than he'd expected.

At the moment, though, there's enough food in stores for a month or more, especially now that he's the only one in need of it. Thanks to Alanna's gift, a much more horrible lack's been remedied, as well-- and if he needs anything more, the raft now moored to the sea-ladder below will make it easier for him to reach shore.

He's not set foot on land yet, not since his arrival, and doesn't look too inclined to try it any time soon. At the moment, chart after chart's been laid out on the quarterdeck to finish drying, weighted down with scraps of wood and pieces of rope, and Jack's taking advantage of the warm afternoon to go over every bit of paper that's left.

Given the partial cloud cover, he's dragged a lantern up from the cabin to the deck, and is using its steady white light to scrutinize what looks to be a document of some sort.
