His door actually returned sometime yesterday, but he's been reluctant to open it and go back to Paragon City, on the grounds that he doesn't need the Tsoo-related aggravation. Now, however, he decides he's been putting it off for long enough. He opens the door...
...and it opens on an ill-defined void.
"Dr Donighal?" Kenobi is at his side. "I doubt the Landlord is paying to provide atmosphere to that place."
"Mm? - Oh, it's all right. There's air in there. And a convenient couch." Sure enough, a couch goes drifting past. "Eddie's in the space-time continuum, and that's his sofa."
"Dr Donighal, you're not making sense..."
"I'm making perfect sense, Kenobi. Just not to you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go."
Kenobi stands between him and the door, trying to close it. "I can't let you do that. It isn't safe out there."
"It's as safe out there as it is in here. Besides, the man I love is calling me."
Obi-Wan's sufficiently startled by that revelation that Michael gets most of the way through the door. He grabs hold of the other, and they fall through ...
...and the door swings shut behind them.
