It's been a while. First there was the end of the semester, then the whole packing-up-and-moving-back-west thing, and then June...well, Junes are probably always going to suck by default.
(At least Neptune didn't care as much about it as they did last year. Two-year anniversaries? Not really as soundbite worthy as one-year ones.)
But now it's July, and Mac's socialization via Fourth of July block party is over, so now she's got a definite excuse to grab a banana-raspberry smoothie and plunk herself in one of the armchairs. Unshouldering her bag, she digs through it for a few seconds before producing a weathered copy of Stranger in a Strange Land.
What? This is her equivalent of a beach book.
