If you knew you had two weeks off from the band, why didnt you take a few days/week off work at the same time? You must get holiday days surely?

Just what I was thinking. It's a little something called annual leave. You must get A/L in a full time job? It's not like you're relief staff is it (and actually, even relief staff get A/L).

If you're skiving Friday anyway, just skive tomorrow as well and go to Alton Towers. If you're 'ill' on Thursday you wouldn't be recovered by Friday. It's probably more believable to take two days off than just the one. Bosses see right through a Friday sicky, but phoning in sick on a Thursday is more random, so they're more likely to believe you're ill.

Sickies all the way. (FYI, I've only pulled one once, and felt thoroughly guilty. But there's plenty other people to open post, you can do it guilt-free!).

This reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon where their boss is furious that employees take '40% of sick days on either a friday or a monday'. Shocking
