Any interviewer that gives you a lame excuse for not hiring you like the one you were given, isn't someone you want to work for.

Actually, the attitude was pretty common back then -- there was a LOT of "local vs baser" friction at that time.

The economy here at that time was the total opposite of now -- back then, there were 100 applications for any minimum wage job opening --- now, MickeyD has to pay at least $12.00 and hour to get a high school kid to show up to work.

That interviewer broke at least a couple of different laws in that interview, and if I had to guess, probably more we don't know about. What sucks is people like this get away with bad habits like that because they know the people they're considering don't have the means to bring a suit.
