did you read the actual bill? it's ridiculous.

it starts off talking about criminal punishment for people who record movies in movie theaters and download movies from online before they're released on dvd. so I'm like - okaaaay that's already illegal, what else you got....
so then it goes into the "family movie act" thing about removing questionable content or whatever, but it talks about it as an individual, personal thing, for families to buy this device that allows them to decide what to remove for themselves and their own family. and I'm like, okay that's not that bad.
but then immediately after that, it's like, oh yeah manufacturers and licensors can do this too and sell copies like these as long as they label them. 'cause, you know, it's not censorship as long as there's a label. what the fuck.
and then, oh the irony, it goes into the third section of the bill, about "national film preservation." like, how important it is to preserve films in a proper manner and shit ( ... )
