I'm so sorry. I know how much it sucks to get instructions you don't want from a doctor.

How about we trade? You can stay in bed for 3 months and I'll abstain from alcohol and powerade for the rest of my life? That's fair, right? :)

You know what, that sounds like a dream to me right about now! Only if I get the Ambien, too ;)

Fair enough. Okay, let's go get our doctor's approval and get started!

Are you football free? Because I would have murdered the doc if he had taken that away from me.

Oh, that sucks. I'm really sorry. I know you are a big beer person. It's, you know, in your name and everything. I'm really sorry, Caroline. :(

Thanks, yo.

Actually, the name came from the Trey Parker/Matt Stone movie, BASEketball.

Ok, my take is you can live without alcohol. However, if you're going to continue to be a distance runner, then you're going to have to cheat on his gatorade etc. rule. Maybe it will be diluted, but you need to have it by mile 9. Fact of life, right?

Yeah, can't live without alcohol. It sounds petty, but once in awhile, it's really nice to sit down with a beer and just relax. As I was planning to do once my big project is over next week.

I've actually found sugar-free electrolyte powders that can be mixed with water. A diabetic runner friend of mine pointed me to them.

I'm not so sure that I'd care if it would make me better. I think I'd rather suffer.

They're running some more tests, so we'll see.
