(all I got was Niamh-sama's notice, which just had me going 'ummm.. what have I missed?')
if you mean the thing about the drama that flared up after people complained about a particular fanfic author being denied membership at GT despite the fact that a fanfic she wrote was being thoroughly discussed on a GT thread... er, I think it's best to state that it was mostly public grumbling on LJ that got noticed, subsequently blown out of proportion, and has since died down. I didn't have any part of it, but several of my friends (both on GT and off) were involved in said grumbling, and I'm honestly torn on the situation.
I think it's best if it's laid to rest, though, in a 'shit happened but it's past' sort of way, you know?
Ahhhh.. so that's what happened! Thank you! :) I just hate being out-of-the-loop, and if it requires a moderator's message, I thought it was even more wank-i-ful than that. I'm more than happy to let things lie. I'm just a curious little girl. *grin*
so how is the book vs the movie. i saw the movie but was sick in the bathroom during most of it ;_; i want to read the book as I've read other works by that author that i liked but heard it was very different.
Awwwww.. I hope you're feeling better now! :( *huggle* I'd definitely recommend seeing it again if you can. Or should I say, seeing it for the first time?
The book.. in my opinion is awesome. I like the movie very much, but they simplify and, dare I say it, Disney-i-fy them. Book Howl is a womanizer. Sophie is much more sarcastic, even as a young girl. The whole black door thing was changed. Not to mention, I love Jones' plot twists. *envious* So I say, do pick up the book! It's well worth it!
Wow, exclamation point overload. Sorry 'bout that. ^_^;;;
I'm doing the reverse, though. "Howl's" got me interested in her other works. Picked up "Fire and Hemlock" but haven't started it. Wanted to try the "Chrestomanci" books, too, but they only had Parts 3 and 4 at the local bookstore.
*HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGS the stuffing out of him*
I miss you, too, Scott! It's not the same out here without you! But "happy" doesn't even begin to cover how ecstatic I am that things are falling into place and you're doing so well out there!
That's fine. I'm on phone-and-socialization lockdown until Thursday, since I've been overdoing it like usual. But if you don't tag me, I'll try and tag you! :)
Sounds like you're already figuring things out, late calls home notwithstanding. XD *huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs back*
