And you know, I was wondering why I didn't like it and you nailed it. If he lost the shirt and the shades and wore something from his treehugging, hippie, lumberjack collection I would probably have loved it but this...

Ya it's all about context, right? Like, in this picture he looks like he put too much grease in his hair 'cos he thinks he's awesome. As opposed to his lumberjack persona, in which he looks like his hair is dirty because he's been too busy building things and playing with leaves in the forest -- and besides it's not like he sees humans all that often so there's no point washing it.
