I genuinely love Supernatural and feel very emotionally invested in the characters (lol, this sounds pathetic) but I still really, really enjoyed the finale! So, I don't know.

A lot of the people whose reactions I've read that didn't like it were big fans of Castiel, or Dean/Castiel shippers, who felt shortchanged by the amount or nature of focus the episode gave him/them. As someone who feels the show has always been mainly about the Winchesters, I was personally very satisfied with this episode. <3

(That doesn't sound pathetic or then we'll be pathetic together ;)

You know, that could be the reason. I thought it felt right that the episode centered mainly around Dean and Sam because the entire season built up to this point. Also, the framing with Chuck was hilariously tongue-in cheek cheesy, as was the last reveal. Hello there, almighty Chuck! :D
