so, yea.
I decided that TODAY IS THE DAY! I am going to get a CHRISTMAS TREE!
(and it was and I did get it)
and so.
It's actually one of those really important things to me, too.
I must have a Christmas tree.
it doesn't have to be huge.
The one or two footers are... well. they're just too small.
so.. then I guess a four footer will do, yes?
well and so.
I decided that I was willing to get a fake tree.
I love the smell of the real ones, however... it jsut wouldn't be prudent to get one.
so, fake tree it is!
about a four footer, I decided.
and I wanted one that wasn't visually HIDEOUS to me (which meant that, even though I wanted to go to Walmart, I wouldn't be getting one there)
I picked Nick up after work. headed to Target first.
chose a tree.
was still going to look at Walmart before the decision was completely made.
Also:
it was raining on my way to pick up Nick.
it was snowing by the time we reached Target.
so... we're heading out to the car, to go to Walmart... and uhm. keys?
you know, those great things to have... outside of the car?
yes, well.
they were IN the car.
(right before leaving the car I'd decided to empty my bag of extraneous things that could just be left in the car, not realizing that my keys had slipped into the bag I had my knitting stuff in... yea. the knitting bag. that I put. back. into. the. car. yes, that.)
I looked for my AAA card.
I called Nick's mom to get the number.
I called them. (my card was at home)
They were having a rather busy evening so we had an hour to wait. we got sammiches. in Target. I enjoyed my sammich immensely.
in fact, I enjoyed the hell out of the whole situation, really.
after about 55 minutes of waiting I started to get antsy.
and I called up AAA for status. they were just about there, so I went outside.
the dude was cool. because I say so, if for no other reasons.
he got my car all happily unlocked.
I signed a piece of paper.
it was so much fun!!!!!
AND I EVEN GOT TO USE MY AAA MEMBERSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME! (a month before it expired, too!)
It really was fun for me.
so, yea. went to Walmart. fell so very NOT in love with any of their crappy trees.
went back to Target, paid for a four nna half footer that Nick didn't mind either.
and got some lights. I like them. you do, too. yep! (don't you?)
also got a tree topper.
well, to be honest, I got a door hanger thingum. two bells, a fake bit of holly. small. not gaudy. just... simple. and something that I'ma put ont he top of the tree.

then we drove home.
oh, boye did I ever drive slowly.
I remember last year rather well being annoyed that no one was really driving in the car lanes.
didn't care tonight at ALL.
I just drove behind the car in front of me, keeping space between my car and other cars, slowing down to stop waaay early. I drove 20mph in a section that's got a limit of 45.
lots of snow. fresh thin layer of snow everywhere. snow that's come after rain. just solid enough to not be slushy, but wonderfully slippery and sooooo not made for stopping on. it's made for sliding around on. sliding to a semi-stop in a very NOT straight line, type of way.
yep! 20mph was good for me!
so, yea. locked keys in my car. enjoying my AAA membership right about now. got a fake christmas tree. and it's snowing like crazy.
I think I'll go about making some sort of snow-somethin' like a lady or whatnot. not tonight, though.
I'm... in a really good mood right now.
