I think you are right, and periods shouldn't be hated like some people hate them. But sometimes I just wish I never had my period again! My contraceptives allow me to skip my period, and I do it so often, because I loathe that time of the month...

Let's think more spiritual next time.

I have pain killers to numn the pain as mentioned. They're quit enjoyable without the pain.

If you're feeling dizzy, you may be low in iron, perhaps you could ask your doctor if you can take an iron test? Its quite common for women to be anaemic since we lose so much iron through blood.

I have taken an iron test and though my values are little on to the lower side they are not low enough to make me dizzy. Plus in my family it is common to have low iron values.

I'm a believer in the idea that periods are a gift from the Goddess that remind us to slow down, look inward, take care of ourselves. They remind us that we are some of the very few creatures who can bleed for a week straight and not die, because we are strong despite our hardships.

But if your symptoms are so very terrible, try seeing a gyno for help. Perhaps they will help.

I agree with the goddess thing.

I visited a gyno at my last period and she thougth I was having a misscarriage. Well then I would have been the new virgin Mary.
Anyways I got some medicines that should help.

I agree about all that has been said. :) We should not look down upon our period, but - as people have said - as a gift from a Goddess, sign of our fertility.

And it's also a fact that a woman on her period should be treated with double layered silk gloves with padding. Like a queen.

Yes silk gloves are a definete plus. Especially if the wearer has chocolate.
