We use a heated mattress cover instead of an electric blanket. LOVE it. And I figure (and quite possibly wrongly) that it's better than electric blanket because we use it to preheat the bed about an hour before bedtime, climb in and then turn it off. After that the down comforter keeps the warmth in.
So, maybe all that electrical badness isn't flowing into our bodies?

I really miss the mattress cover now though. Haven't hooked it up this fall yet because it's got these dual controls that we hook up over the sides of the headboard. And it takes away from the appearance of the bedroom, you know? So until the house lists and is sold, I shiver with you.
