They've made a movie from a book by Cassandra Clare o.0

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

No kidding. And the cast is pretty impressive. What's worse is the cow has like 8 books in print. :(

Friends of mine and I are already holding a prayer circle. I saw a promo for it on tv here and I felt sick. :p

Also, a friend told me that she was at a book signing by Cassandra Clare (not a fan, happened to be there!) and there were huge lines of fangirls with printed out pages of the Draco in Leather Pants trilogy there to get them signed.

Dunno much about her books but I despise her and would never read them on principle. That hack!

Oh god, the Draco Trilogy debacle was one of the first fandom events I was around for. How did she manage to become so successful when there are so many more talented (and much nicer) writers around?

I know, right? Well, in a world where 50 shades of shit became a best seller nothing surprises me anymore.

Oh, ha ha! I've just watched a bit of the youtube clip above, and she comes across as so very rude and unlikable. Drinking and chewing and chatting to the woman next to her, whilst the poor organiser tries to introduce her gushily. She gives the impression of being incredibly bored, as though what's going on around her didn't concern her.

Rude doesn't begin to cover it. I used to write non-fic books and attended a number of (doll/toy/collector) conventions as an author, and I would never EVER have behaved like that. I always made sure to look cheerful and attentive to my audience, even when I felt like hell, was half-asleep, whatever. People were there to see/hear me, so I was going to make sure they knew I appreciated it. Granted, I was never paid millions of dollars for my words...maybe when you're that 'famous' (*throws up a little*) you don't have to give a damn. :p
