The Stars are Going Out

Junsu tries to hold on tight with every fiber of his being. But never too tight, never too rough, never too much to disturb the tranquility of the sleeping man beside him. He knows by now never to hang on so tightly. He holds on just enough to feel his warmth next to him. He wraps an arm around his waist and brings him as close as he will allow himself to. He watches the stars twinkle in the sky and he knows they soon will all fade one by one.

Junsu moves a bit closer to the sleeping man, inhaling deep the scent of his shampoo, his skin, his clothes, his everything that makes him Changmin. He want's so badly to close that one centimeter separating them. That one centimeter that feels like miles away to him. But he knows his bounds, and knows not to hold him so close. And even with that short distance separating the two, it might as well be miles away for Junsu. And he watches with regret as the stars begin to fade.

He shouldn't be awake right now. He shouldn't have stayed up all night. But he has to, he has to or he'll loose these moments he holds so dear. He keeps these times together so close, so deep, so precious in his heart and refuses to share with anyone else. Because it's only times like these where he can feel close to the younger man, where he can feel like he understands him, like they understand each other, and not act like the bickering children they are by day. These are the real MinSu moments. The MinSu moments the fangirls don't see…

and the ones Changmin refuses to see.

He cant help but want to pull him closer just a little bit longer as he watches the sky change colors and the twinkling of the stars slowly fade into hues of light blue, and pink, and all the colors that declare morning is arriving. And Junsu hates it, he hates watching the stars fade because he knows what it means. And he wishes, he hopes, he prays for that one star to just stay in the sky and twinkle clearly for just a little bit longer, to allow him just a bit more time.

But no matter how hard he wishes, he hopes, he prays… all the starts eventually fade away and gives way to morning. And Junsu closes his eyes and pretends to sleep when he feels Changmin stir from under his arm and pull away, leaving him alone and cold in his bed with no words. And when he's gone, he sheds a tear because the stars have faded and morning has arrived. And he knows that when morning arrives, Changmin will leave and their moment has ended.
