I'm sorry to hear about your family problems. It can be really hard to leave them. I hope things get better for you.

Thank you, Hida-san. <3 I appreciate that. Hopefully things will all work out, somehow...

Oh yes, Miss Annie mentioned kendo as a possibility for me to learn, along with karate.... I mean, to help me learn self-defense... And Dai-chan mentioned your interest in martial arts, so I was wondering... Can you perhaps give me some advice?

From my experience, if your family loves you then it can be worked out. Even if it seems improbable.

Yes, my grandfather owns a kendo dojo and I've been a student of the art since I was around six; I even teach some of the classes at the dojo now. I've dabbled around with some of the other arts too, though I'm not as talented in them as kendo. I'd be happy to help you. Perhaps sometime we could meet up and I could show you some techniques? It's easier to learn through doing.

Oh, also, you can call me Iori or just Hida, whatever you prefer.

Maybe you're right... I suppose there is always hope, isn't there?

Wow! I didn't realize that! That is.. That would be so fantastic! Would you really not mind? After all I've been through, I think I need to learn to protect myself... And as Miss Annie says, if I hope to become a lawyer, I need to be more assertive. Although I am not confident I can change that part of myself...

Ah, Iori then! You may call me Mina. <3

In most cases.

No, it's not a problem. I'm sure you'll be a much better student than a bunch of 10 year olds who just want to whack each other with a 'stick'. Would you like to meet up next weekend?

^_^
