I'm pretty sure every book ever written has a social or political agenda. Nearly all the classics have a social or political subtext. Heck Shakespeare is full of them! Even books that are seemingly innocent have a"hidden" agenda (usually). A lot of times, I will read a book and not think anything of it "OH! what a nice story about a grumpy old turtle!" or "oh isn't that interesting, a funny little story about a magical world and a talking lion". It isn't until I reread something (usually through adult eyes) that the agendas/social-commentary come forth. Take the Hunger Games for example. Sure it's post-apocalyptic and dystopian, and it's weird with the kids killing kids for sport, but is that really any different than the Olympics, Survivor, or the NFL? I don't think so. And I think it also has a commentary on people who just sit by and do what the government tells them without thinking about what is right. And that sometimes, when it comes time to elect a president, you have to go with the lesser of two evils, because both candidates

Time traveling from 2016, I look back and this post and love the sentence about "when it comes time to elect a president, you have to go with the lesser of two evils." We had no idea---the presidential candidates are HORRIBLE.
Makes we could get some of the past candidates back!
