Okay, so I typed up a Otakon '07 Con Report, but it was over four thousand words long.

So I decided just to keep that one private, leave it as a record for myself, and type up a new Con Report for the rest of you since I KNOW you don't want to read my full report.

I arrived Thursday night and didn't get to sleep until 4 AM. Is this a problem? I decided not to make it a problem and woke up late Friday morning. I got to the con around 12 and got my badge without waiting in line longer than thirty seconds. It was sweet.

I hopped over to the Dealer's Room line where they were telling people the line wasn't going to be opened for another two hours. Then less than ten minutes later they were letting people in. Go figure. I bought a ton of crap, including zombie white contacts and I'll list it all out later.

After getting out of the dealer's room I finally asked this guy for his picture after seeing him five times already:

I told him I'd probably see him again. I did, and I'd hugged him three times and gotten his contact info by Sunday afternoon. We've talked on aim once already. He's really sweet and I wish I lived in Maryland because we'd definately hang out.

After my first trip into the Dealer's Room I put my zombie contacts in and camera-sniped this picture of these two boys sleeping:

Apparently it's against the law to sleep in public in the city of Baltimore but I think they should make an exception for these two. No, srsly.

I walked to the fountains and took a picture of a girl who was cosplaying the costume I wanted to cosplay this year but couldn't:

She didn't go to the cosplay meets so I'm glad I got her picture.

I met up with my best friend Steph around 4:30 and we went to the Friday Jrock Cosplay meet. I met Jenny and Ashley:

(Ashley is Izumi in blue, Jenny is Isshi in red)

I asked them if I could hang out with them on Saturday, and they were cool with it.

The Jrock cosplay meet for Friday:

Then going back into the Dealer's Room with Steph I found the Shuuhei (from Bleach, my favorite character) I had run into earlier when I was by myself trying to buy something in a booth:

Lots of stuff happened and I met a couple more people I will now fail to talk about. I got tired quickly, and I spent a couple hours in the hotel room with Steph not doing much. There was absolutely nothing going on in the Schedule, and I heard that the AAA concert went on without enthusiasm from the crowd, so even if I'd wanted to go see it I don't think I could have enjoyed it. Steph and I danced at the rave for an hour and then at 12:30 AM I said goodbye to her and just went back to the hotel room to get sleep for the next day.

Saturday I woke up "early" at 9:30 and found Jenny in the Dealer's Room right away. I helped her carry the stuff she bought back to her hotel room and met her mom who told me she'd be happy to help me out with a hotel room next year. On our way back to the con to go to the Jrock cosplay meet at 3 we got stopped by-- and here's the nickname I've given him-- The Hottest Caucasian Male I've Met Since 2004. He asked for our pictures and Jenny took his. He gave both of us a hug and told us each we looked "beautiful."

This picture does him, his personality and his aura of sexiness no justice, but it's proof of his existence at least.

After that we went to the Jrock meet and took photos for FOREVER. I'm not uploading all of them though, just a taste.

After that was over and we were hanging out Jenny spotted two Asians cosplaying the twins from Ouran High and made me take a picture since her camera died.

They were acting rabidly gay, and enjoying every second of girl attention. I am not exaggerating.

Then we met up with the larger group: Kato, Kathryn, Ashley, Elliot and this girl dressed in Lolita were talking at the time. Jenny left with her mom and the rest of us went to eat across the skywalk. After replenishment Elliot left us and we walked to the Artist's Alley. We wasted a TON of time in there and if I could go back I would've taken some money with me to buy buttons or something because I was incredibly bored. Then we left the Lolita girl behind and went back to their hotel room at the Day's Inn to cool off before going to the OtaRave. I took half my costume off and let Kato wear one of my Zombie Eyes. She turned into a hyper little girl and it made me happy. o_o

We went down to the hotel lobby and listened to music off my cellphone and tried to get Kato's laptop to work. I added Kato and Kathryn on myspace and showed them my pictures and my jrock drawing that I made shortly before the con.

After we'd waited long enough for the rave to warm up without us we put our shoes and such back on and went to it. Ashley ditched us shortly after and I actually found the asian guy named Mike I'd met dancing with Steph the night before, but when I tried to get him to dance with us he said kinda embarrassed, "I'm not that good," so I just left him. We attracted plenty of guys but there was one who never left, and Kato tried to get another guy to get him to leave us alone, but he wouldn't. Then we ended up making friends with the guy Kato asked to protect us and he stayed there until we left, making us a group of four. The geeky guy that wouldn't leave was apparently pathetic nice enough to Kato that she let him stay, but I wanted something nicer to look at while I was dancing. After a point I gave up, and then this really hot shirtless asian moved next to me and was dancing the other way, so I could see his shoulders and his back-- that was a nicer view, believe me. XD Around 1:30? we decided to leave and we rested outside the rave against the wall because Kato and Kathryn were completely wiped. I, on the other hand, could've kept going. Funny how that worked out.

Sunday I got my picture taken the first time I sat down, and it turned out well enough and it was actually uploaded online for me so I'm sharing:

Credit to GeoHeart.

I met up with Kato and hung out, went to the J-Street Fashion Panel and was dissapointed, decided I don't like Lolita for more than one reason, and took a picture of Jenny modeling Decora:

Not only is she adorable but I have shoe-envy for her.

So after everyone left I left too, and the last thing related to Otakon I'm going to bother adding in this very chopped-down version of my full report is that I saw two incredibly hot asian guys at the airport as I was going through the security check. One of them turned around and I recognized him. I RECOGNIZED THE BACK OF HIS SHIRT from the Artist's Alley. He was a vendor. The both of them took a flight to Buffalo, NY. The end.

Overall Otakon this year was FUN FUN FUN. Did I not convey that in this report? Saturday was my favorite day and I MET A LOT OF REALLY AWESOME PEOPLE. The schedule for this year was terrible, but it was fine because the schedule ends up getting in the way anyway. I'm not sorry I didn't cosplay because everyone loved my outfit anyway and I felt comfortable being myself. This year I had an incredible ability to recognize people again and again, and I had no trouble asking for pictures whenever I thought of it. When I was in the Dealer's Room I spent money without thinking about whether or not Mom would approve, and I ended up with things I know I won't regret buying!

I bought:
1 small messenger-style shoulder bag to replace the backpack I used the last three years, awesome decision. See picture above. $12
1 pair of Zombie Eyes. $45
1 Phantasmagoria shirt by Jpophouse (T.T I'm gonna miss them) $14
1 D'espairsRay Pig-Headed tour mirror to replace the older Despa one I bought at Otakon years ago that just broke this year $19
1 pair of red and black cyberesque hair falls $20
1 O-ring leather bracelet to match my choker (undercharged by the nice guy at the booth too XD) $8
1 knockoff Vivienne Westwood armor ring $25
1 black Monokuro Boo button $1

total: 8 items. $140. I need to bring more money next year, I know that.

It was worth going, even though for the last three months I had SERIOUS, HUGE doubts whether or not it would be ANY fun or if I'd EVER go to Otakon again, but now I know for sure I want to go next year. <3 And I want to cosplay Gara of Merry from the Ringo to Uso PV in his white corset costume. :3

My goals for next year are:
Learn to apply more eye makeup. Make it more dramatic!
Collect buttons.
Buy more Japanese brand clothes to wear next year.
Get myself a pair of white creepers.
Get a better digi-camera with more megapixels. :(
Have a running website.
Print out cards with my email address/aim/name/etc to hand out to people I meet and photographers that take my picture.
Earn more money to spend in the Dealer's Room and the Alley.

My biggest goal is to share a booth in the Artist's Alley for one day. For that I need to draw more, improve more, and find a way to make things to sell, but I think I can do it because there aren't artists in the Alley like me, and it only costs $35 to have half a table. I can dream, can't I? I think a goal like that will motivate me over this next year, even when I won't be taking an art class. And I know that if I'd known what I was capable of drawing before I finished I'd take myself more seriously and end up with a better, more sellable product. What do ya'll think? :P Any comments? (on my ideas or anything in the entire report) Talk peeps! <3
