You go around solving puzzles looking for this thing. Neighbors stop you to ask you to solve inane tasks that you must accomplish should you ever hope to find your mattress.

Did she just have a bath?! XD She looks like EVIL Kakashi.
At one point she was possessed by an evil spirit. We got rid of it. What you see is holy water.
And at the end of the game it will be revealed that the mattress was really a large robot that just walked away a couple minutes after it was left at the door.
