Seiyuu ka-! chapter 5 summary
Released in Hana to Yume issue 18 2009. Is in volume 1!
Eversince Hime was a little girl, she's loved female idols and magical girls. She never even paid attention to male idols...
On the same day the events of last chapter ended on, Mizuki and Shuuma do a photo shoot together. Everyone there is absolutely stricken by the two dazzling idols who just look irresistible together.
Hime Narration: {And here now are the tremendously popular male idols. Their name is "AQUA". So what are they so popular for?}
During an interview, the interviewer points out that they both seem to be a in a really good mood that day. Mizuki smiles and tells them that he helped someone in trouble that day by lending that person his uniform. He then sneezes, which causes Shuuma to go crazy with worry. He grips Mizuki by the shoulders and says he'll get a cold since he was naked the whole time that happened. He demands a blanket from the others. Everyone is again stricken by the over protectiveness Shuuma has for Mizuki. Apparently, this is the aspect of AQUA that makes them so popular.
Not only this, but they are great singers (their new single made 3rd on the "Orecon" chart), they're great actors, and they dance very well.
Even though he acts like he's in a great mood that day, Shuuma is actually not in the best of moods at all. It seems that Mizuki has taken an obsessive interest in Hime. He's asked 5 times already what Shuuma thinks of her, which is irritating him considerably. He thinks to himself that he needs to do something about this new intruder before things go too far.
At school the next day, Shuuma waits in front of Hime's class. All the girls, of course, are ecstatic, and even Hime is surprised that he's there. Hime recaps on what she did after she borrowed Mizuki's uniform the previous day. She went to go give it back and say thank you, but they had to go to work right away so they didn't have much time to talk. She tries to convince herself that they don't have a problem with her and that they're not interested in her.
Shuuma says Hime's name and steps right in front of her, causing Hime to freeze. Shuuma puts on an absolutely dazzling idol smile and greets her. Of course everyone, including Hime, is taken aback by this. He continues talking to her with that idol smile of his as all the other girls around them look on suspiciously. Hime, still confused, asks if he's there for what happened the previous day. Shuuma denies it and swoops in to kiss her on the cheek. All the girls scream, and Hime is left shocked and speechless. Shuuma winks at her and says that was just a little morning greeting for her.
What happens next? The girls pound on Hime, of course. Shuuma knew this would happen. He calls it his "human shield". With this, there's no way Hime will even be able to approach him or Mizuki.
All throughout the day, the rumor that Hime is going out with Shuuma spreads like wildfire. Jealous fangirls crowd around the classroom entrance waiting to get a piece of her. Shou questions the authenticity of this rumor since...this is Hime the Gorilla. There's no way it's true^^. Tsukino agrees that it can't be true and tries to confirm it with Hime, which is still in a daze. She's absolutely crushed by what has happened. She was saving her first cheek kiss for Sakura Aoyama, but Shuuma has completely stolen it. She snaps out of it and stomps her foot on her desk declaring she's going to smack him for doing that to her.
However, the AQUA female followers block her path in the hallway. Hime kindly asks to be let through, but the leader of the girls asks her what she's going to do once she's through. She asks if she's going to go see Shuuma, which Hime immediately confirms. The girl yells at her for even thinking of such a thing. She flat out tells her that she won't allow any girl to get near Shuuma. The only one who should be near him is Mizuki. She won't allow a girl to disrupt their relationship. Hime is flabbergasted by this shonen-ai fangirl fit^^.
Hime assures her that she's not there to do anything of the sort. Instead, she's just there to hit him^^. As if she could make a bigger mistake than that. The fangirls start beating her up just right outside the room where Shuuma and Mizuki are. Shuuma chuckles about this turn of events.
Mizuki stands at the window and asks if Hime hasn't come again lately. Shuuma drops his water bottle in shock. He tells Mizuki to stop talking about "that kid" It's the 18th time he's wondered such a thing and he's sick of it. Mizuki tells him that he really ought to make more friends besides him, but Shuuma screams that he's the only one he needs.
Mizuki: "...But it seems that girl got a business card from Haruka-san. Isn't she amazing? That girl is sorta interesting. I want to become friends with her. It's been a long time since I've shown interest in seeing someone besides you."
Shuuma's eyes widen as Mizuki tells him this. But he can't accept it. He faces Mizuki seriously.
Shuuma: "You can't. You can't...do that sort of thing again. If what happened that one time repeats itself then what'll you do...? Mizuki, you're the most special person to me. So don't even think about doing that again."
Mizuki can't object any of that, but he tries to talk with him just as Shuuma is leaving. When Shuuma opens the door, he sees something unexpected. Hime is beaten up and on her knees breathing heavily, but she's managed to get through the crowd and to the door. She wipes her bloody nose, commending herself for finally getting to meet Shuuma. Shuuma is speechless and can't believe she would go this far, but realizes that if he doesn't do something then she'll eventually become closer and closer to them.
He reverts to his idol mode and bends down. He tells Hime that he's really happt she came all that way to see her and kisses her on the cheek again. He walks away with a victory grin as Hime is bombarded by the fangirls again.
Shuuma: "The noisy shield is growing bigger. Now you'll stay away from us. Hime Kino."
Poor Hime (T.T) The bullying just escalates after that stunt. Girls whisper and glare at her as she walks down the hall with Tsukino, her boots are scribbled on with marker saying "STUPID GO AWAY, GORILLA", and her lunch is stolen. And while all this bullying is going on, Hime is still receiving huge amounts of homework from the teachers.
Shou states that it is indeed strange that she's the only one being treated this way. He looks rather worried for her and asks her if he can do something about those fangirls. Hime tells him that she won't worry about them because the most important thing is what she has to do for her dream, which is to just focus on the assignments. Tsukino is going to curse them anyway^^.
As she's walking alone outside, free from the fangirls, Hime ponders why everyone is getting all worked up whenever it's Shuuma whose near her. One would think they'd be angry about her borrowing the uniform, but it seems nobody even knows about that. She thinks that perhaps it's Mizuki whose behind this since he might be really angry with her. She remembers Tsukino telling her about the rumor about Shuuma when he beat down someone who injured Mizuki...
Hime isn't alone for long. Mizuki approaches her and seems really happy to have finally found her. Hime slides back in surprise as Mizuki chuckles and expresses the trouble he had in finding her. Before he knows it, though, Hime is far away hiding behind a wall^^.
She looks extremely nervous as she apologizes for taking his uniform the other day. She doesn't look him in the eye at all. Mizuki asks why she's apologizing. He walks over to where she is and happily admits that it was pretty interesting what she did at that time. He assures her with his smile that he;s not angry with her at all.
This relieves Hime. Mizuki is a good guy afterall. But still, if he's not angry, the why is Shuuma still targeting her?
Mizuki: "Huh? Hime-chan, you have a lot of injuries, don't you?"
Hime frets.
Hime: "Oh...! These aren't really important."
Mizuki pauses and looks worried for her. However, he takes her word and smiles.
Hime believes at this moment that she doesn't have to worry about it because this will all eventually settled down and the hatred will go away. However, what sets her off is when she finds her loads of homework scribbled on and ruined. They can call her names, they can scribble on her shoes, they can even steal her lunch, but she won't forgive them for touching the work that she needs to become a seiyuu. She totally snaps inside. She scares her classmates with a dark crackle. She vows to wipe them all out in one fell swoop. The question is how to get those feisty felines to back off. The key is Shuuma, but she doesn't even know why he's targeting her. Then it finally hits her! She knows what to do now.
She calls out the fanclub to talk to her. The leader asks what she has to say, calling her "Gori-Hime". Hime is irritated that even she's picked up her nickname^^. Right away, Shou calls out to Hime. He's brought Shuuma with him just as she asked. All the girls suddenly panic. (Shou is...Shou afterall^^) Even Shuuma looks a little nervous. He wonders what Hime is going to do to him. Hime glares at him and directly faces him. This makes him even more uneasy. She stands in a straight posture and deeply bows to him. Everyone is taken aback.
Hime: "I'm sorry! I can't go out with you!!"
It's a no brainer that Shuuma's surprise is overwhelming. He has no idea what she's talking about, which prompts Hime to explain. I mean, he smiled at her with that kind smile and look all this time, he's kissed her twice, and he's said he's happy to see her every time. What normal girl wouldn't think this guy was in love with her? However, the misunderstood rumor about them going out was spread all too much and it's a HUGE BOTHER. She has no interest in male idols anyway. For all the harassment she's has to deal with, she asks him for permission to hit him just once. (^.^)
Shuuma talks back, calling her an idiot. He asks who told her he was in love with her and thinks it's great that he was such a huge bother for her. He flat out tells her to stay away from Mizuki if she doesn't want anymore.
Little did they all know that Mizuki was listening to the entire thing. He smiles as he puts the puzzle together. He thought something strange was going on and he was right. He steps closer and closer to Shuuma with a sudden dark mood.
Mizuki: "I see, so it's your fault that Hime-chan is injured?"
Shuuma steps back nervously and tries speaking, but his cut off by Mizuki's swift punch to the gut. The pain he feels is definitely shown in his expression as Mizuki sets him straight.
Mizuki: "An idol who would hurt a girl is the worse, right?"
Hime begins to remember why she likes female idols more than male ones. For one, they're more light and fluffy^^. They tend to express every inspiration and dream within their hearts. What just happened between these two male idols was far from that^^. There's no way she's interested in male idols!
Mizuki composes himself and turns to Hime, which makes her jump. He smiles and approaches her with a kind expression. He asks her if she wants to be friends with how he is now. She rejects him outright and runs away (poor girl is scared of him now^^). He's not phased by this. He simply sees it as a challenge.
Meanwhile, all the girls are still standing by in awkward silence. Shuuma is still hurting, and Shou pats him on the shoulder...

I finally filled in the gaps!!!!! Gah! I knew that the problem between Shuuma and Hime was solved before, but I didn't know how it was solved. Now I know....*heh heh*! Mizuki is a scary guy! Usually he's this cute adorable 17-year old boy but when he's angry...he's a murderer^^. We see one more of these darkened moods in chapter 8, but it's not because he's angry.
If it ever does do a flashback story about Mizuki's past, I think it'll be sad. He's such a kind person! Who would hurt him so badly? GR! Maybe it was this event that lead to Shuuma distrusting everybody, too. I wonder if he's always been like the way he is now.
I'm in the mood to create an MMV about AQUA and Hime now. I don't know what song to put with it, though. And there's still limited scenes to work with, but I still think there's enough. If I managed to create 4 RyNn MMVs then I can do this too.
You all wondering where Senri is during all this? According to chapter 6, he was at work this whole time.
Ah...I know there was something I wanted to say....what was it...? Oh yeah. It was nice to see "the beginning of Ume" in this chapter. (For those who don't know, Ume is the name of the AQUA fanclub president.) It really is surprising that.....................I won't say anymore.
Lastly, Minami Maki illustrated something to give to her fans for New Years. I couldn't find it until today.
