very interesting LJ meme
I was doing some googling for interesting LJ quizzes and stumbled about diffrentcolours' post! I reformatted it to make it easier to read. I'll probably include a link to this in my profile since it's a great little introduction!
How did you come to start your LJ?
Hmmmmmm. My first blogging service was Blogger.com, which doesn't have the awesome threaded comments that you see here on LJ. I can't exactly remember, but what probably happened is that I found an LJ community that I really wanted to join (I'm pretty sure it would have been egl), so I made an account and switched over here.
How did you find your first friends?
WOW! I have no idea!!! I guess Amanita (ardent) probably made an account around the same time I did, but I don't remember anyone else.
Are those first friends still on your FL?
ardent isn't because...I have no idea? I can't remember anyone else, so I don't have a good answer for this ;o;
How long have you been on LJ?
Created on 2005-08-03!!! So, almost four years! This will be my 720th entry.
Do you have more friends or communities on your FL?
I have more communities! I have 53 friends and I'm in 79 communities. This is about all I can manage...and I spend a lot of time on LJ.
Do you do a lot of friends cuts?
Nope. I did a huge one a few months ago, but it was really just a clean-up because of old/dead accounts cluttering up my friends list.
What do you like in an LJ friend?
I like someone who comments and who posts. I really love reading people's entries, so I want them to post!! I really like it when people post pictures and interesting articles/videos.
What do you dislike?
Hmmm. I guess I don't really like Twitter posts, but it's okay. I really hate it when people add me to LJ and neglect to read my Friends only post.
What would make you un-friend someone immediately?
This is a tough question. I think they'd have to really far...like, start friending all my friends and spreading rumours about me or something. I wouldn't de-friend someone due to their opinions, though...Well, maybe I would if they repeatedly demonstrated that they have very different, conflicting views to the point I didn't want to read their LJ anymore.
Have you been caught up in a lot of LJ drama?
Oh yes. The biggest one was in . I tend to argue a lot, especially in girl_gamers. I recently joined stupid_free and sf_drama, but hopefully my LJ life doesn't get toooo much more dramatic.
Do RL friends and family members know you have a journal on LJ?
I think most people know I have a LJ. I used to have a lot of my RL friends on LJ, but they stopped using it. I don't know if my family members know, though.
Do you also have Facebook and if so, what do you prefer - LJ or FB?
Okay. Facebook and LiveJournal are really not comparable. They are totally different. I don't use Facebook for "social networking". I use it for myself, to let my thoughts out, to keep a log of my life. (I so plan on printing my LJ one day :3) I adore Facebook, though. If I had to choose, I would have to choose Facebook. I spend much more time on LJ, but Facebook is much more useful.
What about Twitter?
The concept of Twitter confused me a while ago, but I understood it much better once I actually got an account and started using it. I really like it because I can keep people posted about my life even when I'm too busy to blog. I also like it because I hate really short entries. If someone wants to share a link with me, I'd rather see it while I'm browsing Twitter rather than when I'm browsing LJ.
Do you blog on any other sites?
Nope. I used to blog on Blogger, but that's totally private now (keeping it just for memories).
How often do you check in on LJ?
I check LJ several times a day. Probably spend a few hours a day just on LJ.
What do you rarely or never post about?
I don't post about very embarrassing/personal things that have happened to me.
Why don’t you post about that?
I don't feel comfortable talking about it to people, so I most definitely don't feel comfortable writing it on LJ where people not involved or who don't know me that well may misunderstand and misjudge.
Have you ever thought about deleting your journal?
NEVER.
Have you ever changed your username?
NEVER <3
Why did you choose your current username?
Minarin became my Internet alias when I made my LJ. I'm so glad it was available <3
If you’re looking for new friends, how do you find them?
I don't really look for friends. I rarely participate in friending memes. I once was in an "add me" community, but I don't do that anymore. I usually meet friends from communities.
Are you taking new people on to your Friends List just now?
Yeah, always.
Finally, tell us the reasons why you keep an online journal.

- nijiiro_bus - Great Asian music music download community. I get the majority of my music from here.

- jdramas - Probably my FAVOURITE community <333
- garagesalejapan - Though there's a lot of crappy items posted, I love buying/selling here.
- sf_drama - Full of lulz.
- sechuna :3 The layout is pretty!!!
And just for fun, the communities I hate, but still have joined, anyway!
- girl_gamers - I HATE THIS COMM. I hate 80% of the posters, I hate the content, I hate how it's run (the mods don't even mod it...), GRR! But, I must suffer because I must stay informed.
- kpop_uploads - I am SERIOUSLY considering leaving this comm. It's filled with retards requesting songs...and a few advertisements for OTHER communities. Some people even request songs that have just been uploaded. 2NE1, the "female" Big Bang, just "debuted", right? Someone requested where she could find "the rest" of their songs. OMG. WHY NOT GOOGLE AND THEN FIND OUT THAT THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED ANYTHING ELSE?! OMG!
